Abstract

L'invention concerne une mousse à base de résine de styrène extrudée produite à partir d'un agent moussant ayant une faible incidence sur l'environnement et présentant des performances d'isolation thermique et retardatrices de flammes excellentes rendant cette mousse adaptée à une utilisation dans le secteur de la construction. Cette mousse obtenue par extrusion et moussage d'une résine de styrène est caractérisée en ce que l'agent de moussage utilisé comprend au moins un hydrocarbure saturé en C3-5 et la mousse renferme un retardateur de flamme halogéné (A) et au moins un composé (B) sélectionné dans le groupe comprenant des retardateurs de flammes à composé phosphoré renfermant un atome d'azote dans la molécule, des composés tetrazole, des composé azotés spécifiques, des borates métalliques, et de l'oxyde de bore. Cette mousse se caractérise également en ce qu'elle comprend une structure dans laquelle le degré d'anisotropie des alvéoles, k, représenté par l'équation k=a/ (axbxc)<1/3> (dans laquelle a (mm) représente le diamètre moyen d'une alvéole dans le sens de l'épaisseur dans une section de la mousse, b (mm) représente le diamètre moyen d'une alvéole dans la direction de la largeur et c (mm) représente le diamètre moyen d'une alvéole dans la direction de la longueur), est inférieur ou égal à 1,1 et la valeur de a est supérieur ou égale à 0,05 et inférieure ou égale à 0,30.
