Abstract

Procédé de production de Ni(CO)4 à partir de monoxyde de carbone et d'une source de nickel sélectionnée dans le groupe constitué de nickel élémentaire, d'un composé de nickel ou de mélanges de ceux-ci, à condition que le composé de nickel ne soit pas du chlorure de nickel per se ou en mélange avec un minerai de carbonate de nickel, dans une quantité supérieure à 50 % en poids de chlorure de nickel ; ledit procédé consistant à (a) traiter la source de nickel avec de l'hydrogène à une pression d'au moins la pression atmosphérique et à une température effective, en présence d'anion chlorure ou de son précurseur générateur in situ, pour produire un nickel résultant ; (b) faire réagir le monoxyde de carbone avec le nickel résultant pour produire le Ni(CO)4 ; et récupérer le Ni(CO)4. Le procédé assure la production de Ni(CO)4 à la pression atmosphérique et à un taux suffisamment élevé permettant une utilisation directe dans des procédés de dépôt subséquents sans qu'il y ait besoin d'installations de stockage.
