Abstract

La présente invention concerne des réducteurs de frottements utilisés dans des compositions d'huile lubrifiante qui comprennent certains groupes de composés aromatiques, des esters, des mélanges fins d'huiles de base et/ou des polymères amorphes tels que des copolymères oléfiniques amorphes. Ces compositions peuvent sensiblement réduire le coefficient de frottement et permettre de réaliser des économies de carburant lorsqu'on les mélange avec des huiles lubrifiantes, sans induire d'effets nocifs tels qu'une instabilité, une haute viscosité indésirable et des dépôts. Dans un aspect de cette invention, des esters pentaérythritol et éventuellement des esters triol sont ajoutés aux compositions d'huile lubrifiantes de façon à réduire les frottements et augmenter les économies de carburant. Dans un deuxième aspect de cette invention, on obtient des résultats similaires en ajoutant des agents aromatiques hydrocarbyle à une composition d'huile lubrifiante contenant une ou plusieurs huiles de base des groupes II et III. Dans un troisième aspect, cette invention concerne une composition d'huile lubrifiante comprenant un copolymère oléfinique amorphe et une ou plusieurs huiles de base des groupes II et III. Dans un mode de réalisation, ce troisième aspect comprend aussi un ou plusieurs éléments aromatiques et des esters polyol qui font partie de la composition. Dans un quatrième aspect, on utilise des concentrations modérées d'éléments aromatiques hydrocarbyle dans une composition d'huile lubrifiante comprenant des huiles de base parafiniques et de préférence un dispersant sans cendres succinimide polyisobutényle boraté.
