Abstract

Un indicateur de fin de durée de vie pour un filtre absorbant comprend un tube qui contient un film de nanoparticules de métaux nobles sur un substrat optiquement transparent, le substrat étant perpendiculaire à laxe du tube. Une ouverture dans le tube adjacent au film permet aux vapeurs chimiques de saccumuler dans le tube et dêtre absorbées par le film. Une source lumineuse à une extrémité du tube et un photodétecteur à lautre extrémité déterminent la quantité de lumière absorbée par le film de nanoparticules à la suite de lexposition aux vapeurs chimiques. Un signal du photodétecteur est appliqué à un processeur électronique qui détermine latténuation de la lumière par le film et le processeur est connecté à un indicateur qui procure une indication de lexposition du film aux vapeurs.
