Abstract
Divulgation d'un procédé pour traiter une mousse de bitume contenant du bitume, des matières minérales solides et de l'eau. Ce procédé comprend la soumission d'un premier mélange contenant la mousse de bitume et d'une première quantité d'un solvant paraffinique à une séparation par gravité, produisant ainsi un premier circuit de surverse et un premier circuit de sousverse, la première séparation par gravité étant réalisée de manière à ce que le premier circuit de sousverse contienne entre environ 5 et environ 40 pour cent en poids des asphaltènes contenus dans le premier mélange. Un deuxième mélange contenant le premier circuit de sousverse et une deuxième quantité du solvant paraffinique est soumis à une deuxième séparation par gravité afin de récupérer le bitume du premier circuit de sousverse.
