Le procédé divulgué consiste à faire fonctionner un procédé de flottation pour séparer un flux contenant du bitume dans une colonne de flottation dans un dépassement et un soupassement; et à maintenir un dôme au-dessus dune couche de mousse dans la colonne de flottation pour réduire un contenu de gaz dans la couche de mousse.
