Description

Drawing nozzle to pull <B> of </B> wire. The invention relates to a drawing nozzle for drawing wire, in particular tungsten wire.
Until recently, Z, v #, eclce diamonds were used for this, but they are very expensive, especially when large diameter wires have to be drawn. It often happens that the diamonds break during drawing and become unusable. Very well trained staff is also required for the processing of diamonds, such as drilling and polishing.
e # Attempts have already been made to make drawing nozzles for the named purpose from tungsten carbide <B> C </B> or from an alloy of tungsten, iron, titanium and carbon. It has now been shown that an alloy of tungsten and cobalt, which contains at least <B> 75% </B> tungsten, is particularly suitable for this purpose.
Drawing nozzles made of this alloy have great strength and hardness (about <B> 6-7 </B> the # Lfolls # s ("lien Hilrie scale). Although the hardness is not as great as, for example of tungsten carbide, the nozzles have shown themselves to be much more suitable than drawing nozzles made from the latter compound; to which properties this is due is not known.
Drawing nozzles made of tungsten and cobalt protect the material of the wire, while the wear and tear is very low and you are not at all bothered by the breaking of the nozzles.
The combination of readings <B>. </B> tD - <B> 1 </B> with which particularly good results are achieved lies between the following values: <B> 75 </B> to <B > 95% </B> -tungsten <B> 25 </B> to <B> 5 </B> '/ o cobalt.
According to the aluminotherinic process, it is very easy to manufacture drawing nozzles in the required dimensions.
For this purpose, one starts with tungstic acid and cobalt oxide, which are first carefully freed of all moisture by heating to 400 <B> 'C </B>. Dar-Ilach one mixes the ingredients in that
