Description

  Sur le dessin ci-annexé, on a représenté,  à titre d'exemple, une forme d'exécution des  parties du métier qui se rapportent à l'in  vention, soit  En     fig.    1, une élévation latérale des or  ganes avec bords coupants;  En     fig.    2 et 3, un plan, respectivement  une élévation avant, des organes représentés  en     fig.    1;  En     fig.    4 et 5, une élévation latérale,  respectivement un plan, d'un des organes       coupant    en cours de fabrication;  En     fig.    6 et 7, une élévation latérale, res  pectivement un plan, montrant la pièce de  la     fig.    4 dans un stage de fabrication plus  avancé;

      En fig. 8 et 9, une vue en bout, respec tivement une élévation, partiellement en coupe, du mécanisme de mise en marche d'une série de dispositifs coupeurs.

  Loom for weaving and cutting pile fabrics. The object of the present invention is a loom producing pile fabrics per weft. It is characterized in that it comprises, for the opening of the loops to give the bristles, two members with cooperating cutting edges, one being pivoted to the other, means for keeping these cutting edges in contact and means to give them a relative movement capable of opening the loops which are brought to them.

  In the accompanying drawing, there is shown, by way of example, an embodiment of the parts of the loom which relate to the invention, ie in FIG. 1, a side elevation of the organs with sharp edges; In fig. 2 and 3, a plan, respectively a front elevation, of the members shown in FIG. 1; In fig. 4 and 5, a side elevation, respectively a plane, of one of the cutting members during manufacture; In fig. 6 and 7, a side elevation, respectively a plan, showing the part of FIG. 4 in a more advanced manufacturing stage;

      In fig. 8 and 9, an end view, respectively an elevation, partially in section, of the starting mechanism of a series of cutting devices.

  In the drawing, 1 and 2 show the two cooperating members of the cutting device freely pivoted to each other at 3. The first of these members is a steel plate having a straight cutting edge 4 and extending upwards to form a head 5 by which it is maneuvered.

  Body 2 is fixed. It is a flat piece of hardened steel, provided with a hook 6 on one side of which is riveted a spacer and reinforcement plate 611. This member 2 is provided with a cutting edge 7. The neck edges 4 and 7 meet at an angle less than 90.

  The member 2 extends beyond the cutting edge 7 to form a flat tongue 8 at the end of which a hole 9 is made for receiving a guide wire 19 which passes through one of the heddles of the loom to which is adapted the device. This tab (see fig.4) is cut first from the plate forming the member 2, as seen at 8 @ (fig. 4 and 5); it is then folded (see fig. 6 and 7) at 8u at right angles to the rest of the plate:

   This tab is then slightly bent to bring the center of the perforation 9 in the general plane of the plate.

  The pivoting of the member 1 on the plate is a little free so as to allow this member to take a position slightly inclined on its axis of oscillation, which has the effect of bringing the two cutting edges 4 and 7 into contact. This inclination is caused by two protrusions 12 and 13 provided in the plate 2 opposite the points of engagement of the cutting edges.

  The projection 12 is made by means of a punch while the protuberance 13 is formed at the end of a tongue 14 cut into the body of this element and making it spring.

  To support a series of cutting devices such as those just described, there is provided a beam 15 transversely to the loom on which are placed two bearings 16 and 17 for an oscillating bar 18. Immediately above, but es however placed sufficiently from the upper surface of the beam 15 to allow the passage of the woven fabric, there is a bar 19 provided at its upper rear edge with a longitudinal groove in the shape of an inverted L , capable of receiving the hooked ends 6 of a series of cutting devices as described. These are held in place by a cap 20 removably bolted to the upper face of the bar 19.

   All the cutters therefore protrude rearwardly, in substantially vertical and parallel planes, the tongues 8 of their members resting on the flat face of the top of the beam 15 and the vertical front edges of said elements against the bar 19.

  To support the oscillating bar 18 at a point between its supports, it has been provided with a part 21, concentric with its axis of oscillation, and an auxiliary bearing 22 is mounted on the bar 19 to support the bar 18 by part 21. The bar 18 has a longitudinal groove in which are engaged all the heads 5 of the movable cutting members 1. When the bar rotates about its axis, these members are actuated on their respective pivots to make their cutting edges cooperate with those 7 of the fixed parts 2.

  The oscillating bar 18 is actuated by an arm 23 which it carries and connected by a pin 24 to the small arm of a 25 ft lever voted at 26 to a support 27 mounted on the beam 15. The long arm of this lever is provided a lateral projection 28 passing through a groove 29 made in the support 27. This projection engages an arm 30 mounted at 31 at the top of the support 27. The lower end of said arm is connected by a coupling 32, adjustable longitudinally ment, at the clapper.

  During operation and due to the previous connection, each movement of the leaf communicates an angular movement in its bearings to the bar 18, so that all the members 1 of the cutting devices are simultaneously actuated.

   Thanks to members not shown in the trade, the successive rows of weft threads forming the pile of the fabric which has just been woven are guided on the tongues 8 of the fixed cutting members 2, which extend between the warp threads at all desired intervals. 3: n in sequence, each time the fabric advances, one or more series of these weft threads are brought on the tongues 8 towards the fixed cutting edges 7 and are immediately after cut by the operation of the mobile cutting members 1.

  Thanks to the assembly and construction of the device, the threads are clearly and inevitably cut. The spring-loaded tongue 14 on which the projection 13 is located resiliently holds the two cutting edges 4 and 7 of each cutting device in their operating positions. If, for some reason, or wishes to replace one or more, it is easy to do so; after removing the cover 20 from the support bar 19, the hooked end 6 of each of the desired cutters is taken out from its notch in said bar.

  Either of the cutting edges can be properly ground when blunt.

  By means of the loom shown it is possible to continuously produce high quality cut pile fabrics which, due to the perfect work of the cutters, do not require any additional cutting.
