Marmite.
Cooking pot. The present invention relates to a cooking pot.
The pot according to the invention comprises a closing device arranged in such a way that it closes hermetically from the inside to the outside.
Thanks to this device, evaporation can be avoided and complete and rapid cooking can be ensured.
Since in a cooking pot for view of this device, the internal pressure during cooking can reach quite considerable values, and in order to avoid resulting accidents always possible due to inattention or negligence, the pot is preferably fitted with an adjustable screw-type spring-loaded safety valve and a whistle warning device; it will thus be possible to determine the cooking point necessary for proper cooking of the different foods and to avoid excessive pressure in the pot.
One embodiment of the object of the invention is shown, by way of example, in the accompanying drawing, in which: Fig. 1 shows the maronite in vertical section; Fig. 2 is a plan view of the upper part of the pot, and FIG. 3 is a plan view of the closure device alone; Fig. 4 is a detail in lateral elevation.
At its upper end, the pot has an oval-shaped opening -entor rimmed.
The cover C has a shape similar to that of the opening of the pot, but its dimensions are a little larger than those of said opening (fig. 3) so that it is supported by a small one. inner P rim inside the rim of the kettle, when the lid is in place (fig. 1).
In the center of the cover is fixed a rod N with two threads and with an R button passing through a bar B above which is located one of the threads on which the nut M can be screwed, the other thread to the end used to fix button R.
The cover carries a valve V which is adjustable by means of a screw which produces a greater or lesser pressure on the spring E pressing on the closing cone of the valve. This is fitted with a whistle S that the steam pressure makes operate when it exceeds the value previously designated by an adjustment according to the adjustment levels indicated by numbers 1, 2 and 3 (fig. 4). . Obviously, you can have as many graduations as you want.
To close the pot, when the Pou vercle is removed, this cover is introduced obliquely into the interior so that its narrowest part: corresponds to the widest part of the opening of the pot:: this being the only possibility of making it penetrate there.
The cover being: thus introduced into the moth,. We hold it by the bolt N, and we turn it so that the two salient points TT, with which the cover is provided correspond exactly with the two XX marks on the edge of the pot opening.
The bar B B is then placed in a position as shown in fig. 2, i.e. resting on the narrowest part outside the rim of the opening of the pot and tightening the nut M, thus raising the cover until it is This rests internally against the rim of the opening of the pot, which produces the closure. It is then sufficient to adjust the valve to the desired point and to install it. pot on the fire.
As the steam occurs, its pressure forces the lid more and more against the inner edge of the pot opening, thus producing an airtight seal; the seal can be made more watertight by placing a round of cardboard or other suitable material between the lid and the rim of the pot, cardboard which is attached to the two protruding points T T. </ I >
The safety valve V serves the following two purposes: First, in the cooking of foods for which a table of the most common foods is supplied with each pot, and the pressure necessary to cook them completely. Guided by this table, the person using the pot can adjust the valve to one of the three points it has. When the pressure reaches the designated point, the pressure of the steam activates the whistle which signals that the cooking of the food is finished. At this point, the pot is removed from the heat and allowed to cool for a time approximately equal to that during which it was left on the fire.
We can then open the pot. the.food being at. that moment at their exact cooking point.
Secondly, this valve also constitutes a guarantee against possible accidents as a result of inattention or negligence, because at the moment when the signaled point is about to be removed, it lets out the steam.
The V valve can also be used to open the pot. For this purpose it suffices to release the valve and let out all the steam. The pot can then be opened easily and safely and, finally, it can be used to signal with a whistle when cooking is. finished.
To open the pot, it suffices to release the nut 111 again so that when the steam has cooled, the lid falls by its own weight and remains suspended from the bar B B. </ I > You can then remove it from the. pot by a maneuver analogous to. the one used for its introduction.
