Petit compresseur d'air à grande vitesse.
Small high speed air compressor. The invention relates to a high speed air compressor serving, more particularly, for inflating the tires of automobiles.
This compressor is characterized in that the cylinder, the crankcase, the shaft bearing and the base consist of a single piece, that the seal between the piston and the cylinder is obtained without segments and that only one lubricator. ensures the lubrication of all the friction parts.
A first embodiment and a part of a second form are shown, by way of example, in longitudinal vertical sections, in FIGS. 1 and 2 of the attached drawing.
The apparatus comprises a single piece block forming at the same time the cylinder 1 with cooling fins 2, the housing 3, the bearing 4 and the base 5.
The piston 6 has a number of circular grooves 7 parallel to each other and perpendicular to the axis of the piston. These grooves provide sufficient sealing.
The crank shaft 8, which is in one piece, is connected to the piston 6 by the connecting rod 9. The crank shaft 8 rotates in a furnace 10 made of bronze.
The housing 3 is closed by a plug 11 fixed in any suitable manner.
The lubricating oil, coming from a suitable lubricator placed at 12, passes through conduits 13, 13a, 13b, 13c and 13d drilled in the bearing 4, the sleeve 10, the crank shaft 8 and its crank pin, and thus ensures the direct lubrication of the rubbing parts of these components.
The lubrication of the cylinder and of the articulation of the connecting rod 9 on the piston is produced by the oil projected during the rotation of the crank.
The segments to obtain the seal between the piston and the cylinder are removed. The operation of the compressor is very simple: The air entering through the orifice (s) 17 made in the cylinder, is compressed during the rise of the piston and finally discharged, in part, following the automatic lifting of the piston. the exhaust valve 14 which falls back on its seat as soon as the air pressure in the cylinder is exceeded by the resistance <B> 'of the </B> spring 15 -of the valve. The piston then descends allowing the compressed air remaining in the dead space 16 to relax, and this expansion is then pushed below atmospheric pressure until the moment when the piston uncovers the intake ports 17 .
As a result of the lower air pressure prevailing at this time in the cylinder, atmospheric air enters through the orifices 17 into the cylinder inside which atmospheric pressure is established.
If it is desired to use the two-stage compression of the air, the cylinder 1 is provided, in addition to the discharge valve 1d, with a suction valve 18, and the port 19 allows suction into the cylinder. casing 3. This latter communicates with the cylinder 1 by means of a channel 20 opening at 20 'in the cylinder.
Coming down. the piston determines, on the one hand, a suction of air in the cylinder, by the valve 18, and, on the other hand, the com pressure of the air contained in the crankcase; at the end of its downward stroke, the piston covers the orifice 20 'of the channel 20 through which the compressed air, coming from the crankcase, passes into the cylinder. This part of compressed air mixes with the air that is not yet compressed in the cylinder. The result of this mixture is due to the pressure of the air contained in the cylinder, when the piston rises, is higher than that which existed in this cylinder before the orifice 20 'was unmasked.
On going up, the piston determines, on the one hand, the compression of the air cue contains the cylinder, this compressed air being evacuated, at the desired moment, by the valve 14, and, on the other hand, as soon as the part lower part of the udder discovers the orifice 19, a suction of atmospheric air which replaces it. in the crankcase, the quantity of air previously sent, under a certain compression, into the cylinder.
The compressor can be actuated in any suitable manner, by belt, gears, chain or flexible, for example, by means of any driving member of a motor car taken as origin, the apparatus being mounted on the car itself. even, or else thanks to an electric motor, mounted on a common base or on an extension of the compressor base, and coupled directly to the shaft 8 or connected to this shaft by a transmission, the apparatus being, in this case case. separates from the car.
The inlet and outlet valves can be either automatic or controlled. They can, moreover, be replaced by any device playing the same role (valves, drawer, etc.).
The intake and discharge ports of said crankcase could include valves, valves or drawers.
Valves and lights can be single or multiple.
The cooling of the compressor can be provided by any other means of the fins.
The compressors described offer the following advantages: a) minimum number of parts to be machined, b) minimum number of parts to be assembled, c) maximum operating safety obtained by this reduction to a minimum of the number of parts liable to break, d ) minimum weight and bulk due to operation at very high speed which ensures a flow which is very sufficient for the intended use.
