Description

U-shaped cast partition wall for two-part time wheels of steam and gas turbines. In the case of the guide wheels, which are used to subdivide the housing space into the individual pressure levels, the blades intended to delimit the guide channels are often cast directly into a disc-shaped cast body.

The channels of such guide wheels have to be machined cleanly after casting, which excludes the use of materials such as low-silicon cast iron, cast steel and the like, that is, materials with small wax coefficients, as these are either difficult to process or make pouring the blades practically impossible at all. The cast stator wheels that have been used up to now therefore consist of types of cast iron that grow strongly under the influence of temperature and time, which results in dangerous stresses on the turbine housing and changes in position of the guide channels.

The latter affects the good steam flow and thus the efficiency of the turbine. In order to eliminate these disadvantages, there is now a U-shaped cast step partition wall for two-part stator wheels of steam and gas turbines according to the invention made of non-growing material, and it is also constructed in such a way that it has a heat-insulating effect between the two steps. The last-mentioned circumstance prevents excessive continuous heating of the partition wall, which also works in the sense of trying to prevent any growth of the partition wall as far as possible.

Because the partition wall also has a heat-insulating effect, heat losses through the partition wall are largely prevented, which enables a further improvement in the efficiency of the turbines equipped with such partition walls to be achieved.

An embodiment of the invention is illustrated, for example, in the drawing. The figure shows part of an axial section through a two-part stator with a U-shaped cast step partition wall 1. The two legs of this partition wall 1 delimit a space 7 open on the outer circumference of the NVand, and they are also provided with ribs to stiffen the wall or webs 2 rigidly connected to one another. The two-part stator also has a ring 3 into which the blades 4 delimiting the guide channels are cast.

The ring 3 is carried by the partition wall 1, and to secure its position, it protrudes with a projection 5 in the space 7. The partition wall 1 consists of a non-growing with time send building material, preferably made of silicon-free cast iron or Cast steel '. Such substances are permissible here, since the guide vanes 4 are not directly in the partition wall 1, but in the wall completely. separately producible ring 3 are to be cast. The intermediate space 7 is also designed according to the invention in such a way that it is heat-insulating in order to make the transfer of heat from one step to the other through this wall as difficult as possible.

For this purpose, that space 7 is expediently filled with a heat insulating compound, for example As best or air. The same purpose is also achieved if the room 7 is evacuated as high as possible.
