Winding and time-setting mechanism. The object of the invention is a winding and time-setting mechanism intended above all for movements of watches and clocks permanently fixed, for example in a vehicle or against a wall.
The object of the invention is to create a mechanism the control of which can be carried out remotely. This mechanism is characterized in that it comprises a rotating mobile, for example a grooved pulley, subjected to the action of a return spring and connected to a traction control member making it possible to communicate to said mobile a movement of rotation against its return spring, this mo bile driving by means of a ratchet, when actuated using the control member, a return mounted on a rocker and that it is possible to mesh, depending on the position occupied by the rocker, either in a winding wheel or in a time-setting return.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows it in section along. line I-I of fig. 2; Fig. 2 is a section developed, on a larger scale, along the broken line II-II of FIG. 1; Fig. 3 shows, schematically, the arrangement of the control members of the mechanism, for example in a motor vehicle watch.
In the drawing (fig. 1 and 2), we can see the barrel 1, the shaft 2 of which is adjusted, by one of its pivots, in a bridge 3 surmounted by a second bridge 4 supported by pillars 5.
On the shaft 2 of the barrel is fixed a winding wheel 6 permanently meshing with a winding reference 7 which in turn meshes with a reference 8 mounted on a rocker 9. The latter is pivoted on one of the pillars 5 and can oscillate between two extreme positions limited by a pin 10 which is fixed to the rocker and engaged in an opening 11 of the bridge 4.
The return 8, relatively thick, constantly meshes with a wheel 13; it is housed in an opening 12 made in the bridge â (fig. 2), so that it can engage, on the other hand, either in the winding reference 7 placed on one side of the bridge 3, or in a time-setting reference 14 placed on the other side of said bridge, according to the position occupied by the lever 9. Normally, this lever occupies the position shown in the drawing, under the action of a spring of recall which is not shown in the drawing, and its reference 8 meshes with the re-assembly reference 7.
However, if the lever 9 is reversed against its return spring, the return 8 moves away from the return 7 and engages with the time-setting return 14, while remaining in engagement with the wheel 13. The latter is integral with a ratchet wheel 15 mounted idly on a fixed axis 16 adjusted, on the one hand, in the barrel shaft 2 and, on the other hand, by a square, in the bridge 4. In the ratchet wheel 15 there are two impulse pawls 17 secured by their respective pivot 18, with a grooved pulley 19 mounted idly on the axle 16.
A res out 20, formed by a steel wire bent in an arc of a circle, is fitted to the two impulse ratchets 17 and tends to keep them engaged in the teeth of the ratchet wheel 15.
In: the groove of the pulley 19 is wound and fixed by one of its ends, a flexible traction member 21, for example a steel tape or a cable, the free end of which makes it possible to control the remote control. pulley 19. In a core 22 of the pulley is housed a spiral spring 23 whose ends are fixed, one to. the pulley 19. and the other to the fixed axis 16. This spring is normally in its equilibrium position and tends to keep the pulley 19 immobile. If a traction is exerted on the free end of the pulley. the control member 21, the latter unwinds from the pulley by imparting to it a rotational movement: against the spring 23 which contracts.
But as soon as the control member 21 is released, the pulley 19 rotates in a retrograde direction and resumes its equilibrium position by rewinding the flexible member 21, under the return action of the spring 23 which relaxes. It is thus possible to impart to the louse 19 an alternating rotational movement which is transmitted to the pawls 17 and transformed by the latter, cooperating with the rocker wheel 15, into a rotational movement always the same. - sense, intermittent. The wheel 13 being integral with the rocking wheel 15, drives the return 8 and hence the winding wheels 7 and 6.
If the lever 9 has been reversed beforehand, the reference 8 drags the time-setting reference 14 and therefore the timer of the watch movement, instead of driving the winding wheel 7.
It is understood that the barrel may be provided with a stopper and that a retaining pawl will be engaged in the teeth of one of the winding wheels.
The pulley 19 can be controlled remotely, using its control member 21 (fig. 3).
The rocker 9 could also be controlled remotely by means of a flexible traction member attached to the rocker.
