Description

Device for adjusting a machine for rounding the profile of the teeth of watch wheels. The subject of the invention is a device for adjusting a machine for rounding the profile of the teeth of watch wheels.

In machines of this type, of current construction, the cleat, against which the wheel rests, the profile of which is to round off the profile of the teeth, is mounted on a slide making it possible to adjust the position of the wheel, in sight of the rounding cutter, that is to say to advance the workpiece until it occupies the required position in front of the tool.

The object of the invention is to do away with the usual slide, of relatively expensive construction, and to replace it with more economical adjustment means.

To this end, the cleat is axially movable in its support and rests against a helical surface of a rotary cam, so that the cleat and hence the workpiece can be advanced towards the tool, making turn the cam.

The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the object of the invention. Fig. 1 represents it in longitudinal section, along the axis of the cleat, while FIG. 2 is a section along the line II-II of FIG. 1.

In the drawing, we can see a part of the frame 1 of the machine, the round cutter dir 2 rotating in the direction indicated by the arrow (fig. 1), and the working part 3 formed by a toothed wheel with its pinion . The wheel 3 is mounted freely, by the pivots of its axis, on two coaxial pins 4, 5, the ends of which facing each other are hollow. Each spindle is freely adjusted in a bushing 6 respectively 7 mounted and fixed in a borehole of a boss 8 respectively 9 of the frame 1. In addition, each spindle can be wedged in its support bush, by means of a screw 10 passing through a suitable opening in the socket (only one of the screws 10 is shown in the drawing).

The socket 7 comprises a projecting head 7 'whose bore is larger than in the rest of the socket. In this head 7 'is adjusted with soft friction the tu bular cleat 11 giving passage to the spindle 5. The soft friction adjustment of the cleat is achieved by virtue of the rear part of the latter, split along its axis. Against the front surface of the cleat 11 rests the wheel 3; the latter is kept pressed against the cleat during the rounding of its teeth, by the effect of the cutter 2 rotating in the direction indicated by the arrow.

The cleat 11 is supported by its rear end against a helical surface 12 of a rotary cam 13 penetrating into the bore of the head 7 ', through a side size 14 of the latter. - The cam 13 can rotate freely on a surface of a screw 15 screwed into the frame 1.

For the establishment of the work piece 3, the members of the device occupy approximately the respective positions shown in the drawing, the pins 4 and 5 being free. After installing the wheel 3, the cam 13 is rotated so that its helical surface 12 acts on the cleat 11 and makes it advance until the wheel 3 coincides with the vertical plane passing through the axis of rotation of the cutter 2. The cleat 11, moving forward, drags the spindle 5, while the spindle 4 is pushed back. Once the focusing of the workpiece 2 is completed, using the cam 13, we wedge the pins 4 and 5, then we proceed to the rounding of the teeth of the wheel 3 by rotating the strawberry 2.

This operation offers nothing special, because the rounding cutters and the way they work are well known.

  Cam 13 could be graduated.
