Description

Drehfedergelenk.

Torsion spring joint. The subject matter of the present invention is an existing joint made of coiled torsion springs, which allows, for example, certain angular movements in drive shafts of motor vehicles.

Such a joint must, in order to meet all claims, combine high resistance to lateral displacement with sufficient resistance to torsion, but allow smaller angular and longitudinal movements of the shafts without great effort, work silently and wear as little as possible.

Joints consisting of torsion springs with a rectangular cross section are known. With these, however, you have encountered a difficulty: If you choose the spring cross-section so strong that it has sufficient resistance to the torque to be transmitted, you have to provide many turns in order to achieve sufficient angular and longitudinal movements, but you get Fe those that sag and so do not keep the shaft centered; If only one turn is arranged with sufficient flexibility against angular and longitudinal movements, the resistance against the torque is inadequate.

The invention described below avoids these difficulties by using spring cross-sections that connect great flexural rigidity to absorb the torque with low torsional stiffness with respect to angular and longitudinal movements.

In the accompanying drawings, some embodiments are shown schematically Darge, namely shows: Fig. 1 the attachment of the per se known flat springs. At the shaft ends to be connected by the Ge joint, the two rings a be fastened in a suitable manner. The ends are connected to them by rivets c. of the springs b of each preferably about a full turn resilient length, the fastening points on each ring being diametrically opposite one another. According to the present invention, instead of the flat springs, those made of any profile material, for example and most expediently Z-shaped cross-section, are used.

If such profile springs were wound cylindrically with a constant diameter, the result would be - regardless of which profile the cross-section has and how it is positioned to the spring axis - a larger coil spacing than with flat springs, i.e. a larger lever arm and greater torsion due to the torque. In order to avoid this, the springs d are spirally wound according to FIGS. 2 and 3, so that their legs lie one inside the other with sufficient leeway and the winding spacing is not greater than that of flat springs of the same material thickness. The springs d are attached to the rings f and g by rivets e.

The torsional stiffness of such springs can be further increased without increasing the height by making the legs of the Z-profile stronger than the web or by folding them twice or more according to FIG.

The number of springs depends on the outer diameter, torque and longitudinal movement. The use of only one spring would not be appropriate because of the less favorable stress on the clamping points. If there are three, four or more springs, the fastening points 120, 90 etc. lie apart. Instead of four, six etc. springs, two bundles of two, three or more springs each can be arranged, which are then attached, offset by 180, as in Figs. 2 and 3.
