Description

Artificial thread and method and device for its manufacture. The invention relates to a particularly tear-resistant synthetic thread and a method and a device for its production by the draw spinning process, in particular the copper oxide ammonia stre.ok spinning process. One has worked according to this method, among other things, in such a way that the thread has been acidified under tension and stretching after leaving the funnel.

The procedure was such that the take-off device generated both the tension during acidification and the tension when the threads were pulled out in the spinning funnel, with the flow of precipitating liquid in the spinning funnel having a supporting effect.

The artificial thread according to the invention, which consists of practically endless single threads of less than 11/2 denier, is characterized by the fact that the crystals from which the single threads are made are straightened so that the interference rings disappeared and closed in the X-ray diagram individual new interference flecks have shrunk.

This synthetic fiber shows a special tensile strength and is preferably produced from copper oxide ammonia cellulose. Synthetic thread produced using the stretch spinning process can have a tear strength of more than 220 g at 100 denier when dry. Can when wet. the same thread has a tensile strength of over 140 gr per 100 denier.

Denier is a measure of the thread thickness that is common in the silk industry. The number of deniers is equal to the number of grams that a thread 9,000 m long weighs.

You can find the same filaments as they are used to make yarns. also produce so-called staple fibers. The yarns made therefrom also have increased strength compared to the yarns made up to now from staple fibers. The previously known yarns of the type described, made of copper oxide ammonia cellulose, generally had a maximum tensile strength of 170 to 185 g when dry and 85 to 95 g when wet.

The technical progress compared to the known yarns therefore lies in the increase in the tensile strength and thus in a further adjustment to the strength of the yarns made from natural cellulose fibers.

To produce this thread one proceeds in such a way that the threads are only preformed (before stretched) by the precipitating liquid in the spinning funnel and coagulated to such an extent that they are still plastic when they exit the spinning funnel, whereupon the threads after leaving the spinning funnel Spinning funnel and before the final hardening of another substantial stretching are subjected. The ratio of the final stretching outside the spinning funnel to the preliminary stretching in the spinning funnel can be chosen so large that the thread receives an increased, previously unattained strength.

The complete hardening of the thread outside of the lia.lb of the spinning funnel can usually take place by acidification. The acidification can take place after the threads have left the spinning funnel. Then, however, the stretching must follow the acid treatment so closely that it is effected before the threads completely harden under the action of the acid. The acidification can also be carried out after the final second stretching.

It has occasionally become known to stretch rayon a little after leaving the spinning funnel between this and the collecting device, but without the intention of increasing the strength and without @success: g. In the known cases, the post-stretching was about 10%, at most 15%. According to the present method, however, the post-stretching can be 20 to 100% </ B > and more, depending on which increase in strength is achieved.

In individual cases, the degree of stretching and the increase in strength also depend on the spinning process used and the composition of the precipitation bath.

To carry out the method iiaeh of the invention, one can use a device characterized by the arrangement of a spinning device in which the thread is precoagulated in flowing precipitating liquid, one and an interposed device which reduces the thread speed and which has a considerable stretch of the Between her and the trigger.

You can also place a thread guide or a system from Fa: den- guides behind the spinning funnel in place of the first take-off device and choose the friction conditions on them so that the stretching through the take-off device does not look backwards into the spinning funnel a propagates, in other words, in such a way that the stretching in the spinning belt takes place solely through the speed of the precipitating liquid flowing through it.

In all the cases described, the acidification can take place either shortly before or in the second pulling device or on the way from this to the bobbin, reel, spin dryer or the like. A spool or a reel can also be used as a second take-off device. Then acidification takes place on them. You can also stretch the artificial thread in the strand, but it must still be in a sufficiently plastic state.

In the drawing, two Ausfüh approximately examples of a device according to the invention are shown.

Fig. 1 shows a spinning device with two take-off rollers and a spinneret. 2 shows a spinning device with a take-off roller and a winding bobbin; In the drawing, a X-ray diagram of rayon of known quality and strength is shown in FIG. 3; FIG. 4 shows an X-ray diagram of highly tear-resistant silk according to the invention, FIG. 5 shows an enlarged cross-sectional image of highly tear-resistant silk according to the invention. It is the cross-section through a thread of 120 denier with 180 fibers.

According to Fig. 1, the threads are initially precipitated in flowing precipitating liquid to a certain extent in a spinning funnel 1 of conventional nature and pulled out. The movement of the thread in the spinning funnel is effected once through the flowing precipitating liquid and then through the roller 2 which is driven at a certain speed and which is arranged behind the usual guide rods 9.

Arranged behind the roller 2 is a take-off rail 3, which is likewise driven at a certain but greater speed and onto which the acidic liquid flows from a channel 4. A guide roller 5 then guides the thread to the spin dryer 6. The roller 5 may or may not be driven depending on the nature of the thread. Under the roller 3 there is a collecting tray 7 for the acidic liquid, which is discharged through a nozzle 8.

In FIG. 2 the spin funnel is again designated by 1. Behind the spinning funnel 1, the take-off roller 2 is net angeord immediately. The roll can run at a circumferential speed which is the same as the exit speed communicated to the thread by the precipitating liquid from the spinning funnel. The thread then runs onto the bobbin 10, which revolves in a trough 11 filled with dilute acid. The Fa can also be sprinkled with acid on the way from the roll 2 to the spool 10 a little before the latter.

Instead of the deflecting rod 9 and the roller 2, FIG. 1, or only the roller 2, FIG. 2, a system of, for example, offset thread guides, for example full rods, which guide the thread in a zig zag, can occur.

Ordinary copper silk produced according to the stretch spinning process has, for example, a dry tensile strength of 160 g. Wet: the tensile strength is 85 g. If the silk is subjected to a post-stretching of 60% , then in individual cases tear strengths are achieved from 222 to 268 g when dry and 14.6 to 183 g when wet.

With the production method described, it is possible, in a silk with such increased strength, the individual threads of the yarn without the risk of breakage and the formation of lint and bristles - these are the protruding ends of broken threads that, depending on the At the time of the breakage, the degree of stretching already achieved is even stronger (bristles) or weaker (fluff) - results in lowering a denier for the single thread, i.e. a cellulose silk yarn made of single threads,

of increased strength and less than one denier to form. Such a yarn has the same mild sheen as natural silk and reaches or exceeds this in terms of grip and strength, since the individual threads are finer than those of natural silk. Such yarns are new and form a product of a previously unknown quality in terms of softness, pliability and strength as well as bulk.

Such a yarn is, for example, a yarn produced from copper oxide ammonia cellulose solution by the wet draw spinning process with a titer of 0.7 denier for the single thread with a tensile strength of 264 g to 100 denier in the dry state and 190 g to 100 denier in wet condition.

The tear tests, on the basis of which the present figures are established, took place with a fiber moisture content of 11% for the dry state and in a completely wet state at room temperature. The so-called; @, Schoopersche Zerreissapparat was used. a clamping length of 50. The Reissgeschwin speed was 50 cm per minute. The yarn number was also determined at 11% fiber moisture.

On the X-ray diagram according to FIGS. 3 and 4, the middle white spot is due only to a perforation in the film to avoid the excessive blackening produced by the direct rays. This tremble.

also the dark visual blackening around the white spot. The interference spots on the opposite side outside of the middle blackening @diametral: are decisive. One notices ,. 1 that these interference spots are to be understood as residues of less pronounced circles running around in Fig.

while in Fig. 2 the interference spots themselves are shrunk to arcs of even smaller central angle and the shadow-like remnants of a circle can no longer be seen.

Fig. 3 shows that in the threads of known quality and strength the crystals are still relatively disordered, while the crystals in the highly tear-resistant thread according to the invention have been straightened by the stretching. If all the crystals are randomly mixed up, complete interference rings result. ; (The further the direction of the crystals goes, the more the rings disappear, and finally they shrink into spots of small centrifugal incels.

The cross-sectional image according to FIG. 5 shows that the individual threads have an essentially circular cross-section.

The deviations are insignificant. This cross-sectional shape is characteristic of the thread according to the invention. Other synthetic threads have a more or less irregular, possibly even kidney-shaped cross-section.
