Description
Process for the preparation of a vat dye. In the main patent, a process for the preparation of a güpen dye is described ben in which anthanthrone is treated with iodine agents.
It has now been found that one can obtain a dye of similar. Properties he can keep if you mono iodanthanthron, shown, for example by treating anthanthrone with iodine in anhydrous sulfuric acid with chlorinating agents. You can do this in the Her position of iodanthanthrone according to the process of the main patent or Switzerland. Use the sulfuric acid solution of iodantanthanthrone obtained in patent No. 147164, thus saving the isolation of the original body.
The dye obtained, a chloroiodine anthanthrone, crystallized from nitrobenzene, forms orange-red needles and dyes cotton from a red-violet vat in bright scarlet shades of excellent light and weather fastness.
<I> Example 1: </I> 30 parts of monoiodanthanthrone, prepared for example according to the process of the main patent or of Switzerland. Patent No. 147164 are suspended in nitrobenzene and treated at <B> 60 '</B> C after the addition of 1.5 parts of iodine with 60 parts of sulfuryl chloride for about 4 hours. After cooling, the chloroiodine anthanthrone obtained in the form of orange-red crystals is suctioned off.
<I> Example 2: </I> 30.6 parts of anthanthrone made for example by treating 1. 1'-Dinaphthyl-8.8'-dioarboxylic acid with concentrated sulfuric acid are heated in 300 parts of monohydrate to 120 ° C., whereupon the solution is admixed with 12.7 parts of iodine over the course of one hour and with stirring for a further 1 hour is heated to 120 to 130 C.
Chlorine is passed into the iodine anthanthrone solution obtained in this way at 0 C until a sample taken on cotton from an alkaline hydrosulphite vat gives scarlet colorations. The work-up can be done by pouring into ice or by carefully adding water, whereby the crystallized oxonium sulfate of the chloroiodanthanthrone separates out, which after suction; is decomposed with water.
