Description

Method for preparing an anthraquinone acid dye% s. It has been found that an acidic anthraquinone dye of excellent leveling capacity is obtained by reacting the 1-amino-4-bromoanthra: ehinone-2-sulfonic acid with p-aminoplienol glycol ether.

Example: 3.8 g of 1-amino-4-bromoanthraquinone-2-sulfonic acid are mixed with 5 g of p-aminophenol glycol ether, 10 g of soda and a little 1.0% i.-en aqueous copper sulfate solution for 30 minutes in 150 cm 'of water to boil. The deep blue solution obtained is diluted with water, filtered, the dye is salted out and dried.

The dye crystallizes in blue needles and is easily soluble in water with a green, tinged blue color. It provides well-leveling blue colors.
