Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines plastischen und stosssicheren Pentaerythrittetranitrat- Gemisches höchster Brisanz. Das Pentaerythrittetranitrat ist ein Ex plosivstoff von guter Stabilität, grosser Dichte, sehr hoher Detonationsgeschwindig keit und starker Energieentfaltung bei der Detonation. Es wäre hervorragend als Mili tärsprengstoff zum Füllen von Geschossen geeignet, wenn es nicht den grossen Nachteil hätte, dass es allzu empfindlich gegen Stoss und Schlag ist. Es bietet infolgedessen Schwierigkeiten beim Pressen und ist ferner nicht schusssicher.
Aus dieser Erkenntnis heraus wurde auf verschiedenen Wegen versucht, diesem 'Übel stand auszuweichen. So wird nach dem D. R. P. Nr. 500 844 das Pentaerythrittetra- nitrat mit aromatischen Nitrokörpern, zum Beispiel Trinitrotoluol, zusammen geschmol zen, wobei eine Phlegmatisierung des Penta- erythrittetranitrates eintritt und man be- schusssichere Sprengladungen erhält. Das D. R. P.
Nr. 500 272 sieht vor, das Penta- erythrittetranitrat mit flüssigen alipha- tischen Salpetersäureestern, wie Nitroglyze rin oder Glykoldinitrat zu vermischen; man gelangt dadurch nach Angabe des Erfinders zu der energiereichsten und schnellst deto nierenden Kombination. Aber die Fall hammerempfindlichkeit wird dadurch nicht so weit herabgesetzt, dass man von einer ge nügenden Schusssicherheit sprechen könnte.

Zweckmässig mischt man das Nitroäthylenchlorhydrin mit Nitroglyzerin, Nitroglykol oder Dinitro- monochlorhydrin und gelatiniert es zusam men mit dem Pentaerythrittetranitrat, zweck mässig unter Zusatz von Collodiumwolle.

Pentaerythritol granitrate is an explosive substance of good stability, high density, very high detonation speed and strong energy development during detonation.
