Device for immobilizing pendulums, regulators, etc. It is a known fact that pendulums and regulators very often stop as soon as they are moved during their winding or threshing. The object of the present invention is a device for immobilizing pendulums, regulators, etc., and by means of which the annoying drawback mentioned above can be avoided. This device comprises two tightening screws mounted on at least one support fixed to the wall so that said can press against the cage of the pendulum on both sides thereof.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of one half of the device, and FIG. 2 shows the application of the device to a clock, according to the invention. The arrangement shown in fig. 1 com carries a support a formed by an angled flat iron whose al arm has an internal thread for the screw b. This screw can be turned by means of a knurled head c and carries at its opposite end a movable disc d with which the screw rests against the cage of the pendulum (fig. 2).
The arm a2 of the support is fitted with two crampons e arranged at an angle allowing the support to be fixed to the wall next to the pendulum or the regulator: To immobilize the pendulum, one places on each side of this one, at approximately one centi meter of the cage, one of the devices just described, by means of the clamps e (fig.-2). After putting the clock in place, tighten the two screws b. We can thus move the pendulum a centimeter to the left or to the right to bring it exactly into focus.
In this way, the pendulum is completely immobilized and can no longer be moved during winding or dusting.
It goes without saying that the support a could have any other shape than that shown. It will also be preferable to provide the discs with a small felt insert, which prevents damage to the cage of the pendulum or regulator. Instead of two supports for the tightening screws, it will be possible to provide only one for the two screws, support which will pass behind the cage of the pendulum or the regulator. The crampons e could be replaced by any other means of fixing.
