<I>I.</I> (a bis e).

Process for the production of artificial structures. The present invention relates to a method for producing artificial structures, which is characterized in that a liquid is allowed to act on a solution of the product of at least one halogen fatty acid on cellulose xanthate, which has a coagulating effect on the solution and a plasticizing effect on the freshly coagulated material .
In this process, too, as in the process of the main godfather, strong mineral acids, in particular strong sulfuric acid, for example precipitation baths, which are not less than 35%, advantageously not less than, have proven to be the liquid that has a coagulating and plastering effect <B> 50% </B> 1 = I @ SO, or contain an equivalent amount of another strong mineral acid in terms of coagulating and plasticizing effect, has proven to be very effective.
According to the present process, it is possible to produce artificial structures, in particular artificial threads, which, in addition to high strength in dry and wet conditions, also have good extensibility. The process can be carried out in a manner analogous to that of the process of the main patent, with the difference that, instead of the action products of the halogen derivatives of dihydric or polyhydric alcohols, action products of halogen fatty acids are used.
Since the practical implementation of the process of the main patent in the patent writing of the main patent is described in detail and illustrated by a large number of examples, reference is made here to the statements there in order to avoid repetition and the number of examples on one Minimum size limited. In these examples the parts are to be understood as parts by weight. <I> I. </I> (a to e).
a) 100 parts of wood pulp water content: <B> 8%) </B> or cotton lint (water content: 6 to <B> 7%) </B> in 2000 parts of 18% sodium hydroxide solution at <B> 15 '< / B> C -ein and leaves it there for three hours, then presses the alkali cellulose until it weighs 300 parts in the case of wood pulp, 840 parts in the case of linters, shreds it at 11 to 15 C for two to three hours, then adds In the case of wood pulp 40 and in the case of liners 60 parts.
Add carbon disulfide, it allows the carbon disulfide to act for eight hours at 18 to 20 C, blows off any excess carbon disulfide for 10 to 15 minutes and dissolves the xanthate thus obtained using enough caustic soda and water that the solution obtained contains approximately 6.5% analytically determinable cellulose and 8% NaOH.
When the solution is complete, 60 parts of monochloroacetic acid are dissolved in 6 "0 parts of water and added to the viscose neutralized with sodium bicarbonate, stirred in thoroughly and the reaction mixture left to stand at 15 ° C. The spinning solution is filtered three times through cotton, with two filtrations soon after the addition of chloroacetic acid, while the third takes place immediately before spinning.
The spinning solution obtained in this way is then left to age for 96 to 100 hours at 15 ° C. before spinning and then spun as follows: The spinning solution is pushed through at a speed of 1.6 cm per minute a platinum nozzle that contains 100 holes 0.08 mm in diameter, in a coagulating and plasticizing bath that contains 57.5% HESO and has a temperature of 16 C, where the thread is an immersion length of 20 cm in the sulfuric acid, then let the thread go 165 cm through the air and wind it on a spool,
which rotates at such a speed that \ the thread is pulled about 18 m per minute. In the air passage, three glass rollers are arranged at an angle to one another, over which the thread runs and which exert an additional stretching or pulling effect on the thread. The lower part of the bobbin runs in water so that the sulfuric acid is removed or considerably thinned as soon as the thread reaches the bobbin. The threads are then washed, cleaned, dried, twisted and finished in the usual way.
b) Procedure as in a), but with the difference that 6.6 em- 'spinning solution are conveyed per minute, that the withdrawal viscosity is 40 m per minute and that the coagulating and plasticizing bath <B> 58 % </B> H.> SO, contains.

IV. (A to f) .- a) The viscose is prepared exactly as in Example II.
As soon as the viscose has completely dissolved, <B> 3 </B> 0 parts of monochloroacetic acid are dissolved in 30 parts of water and neutralized with sodium bicarbonate, the viscose is added and stirred in thoroughly. The spinning solution obtained in this way is allowed to age for 96 to 100 hours at 15 ° C. and is stirred for four hours a day during this time. The solution is, as described in the previous examples, filtered and after 96 hours spun as follows.
The spinning solution is pressed at a speed of 1.6 cm 'per minute through a platinum nozzle which has 100 holes 0.08 mm in diameter into a coagulating and plasticizing bath which contains 61 to 63% FI.SO. -and has a temperature of <B> 16 '</B> C; the immersion length of the thread in the sulfuric acid is 20 cm. After leaving the bath, the thread is allowed to pass 165 cm through the air and is wound onto a spool that rotates at such a speed that 18 m per minute are withdrawn from the thread.
As it passes through the air, the thread runs over three glass rollers which are arranged at an angle to one another and which exert an additional stretching or tensile effect on the thread. The lower part of the bobbin runs in water so that the sulfuric acid is removed or considerably diluted as soon as the thread reaches the bobbin. The threads are then washed, cleaned, dried, twisted and finished in the usual way.

P. (a to l).
a) The starting viscosity is produced as in Example I, but with the difference that such wood pulp or cotton linters are used as starting cellulose, which give viscose of very high viscosity, especially if the viscose is somewhat low Amount of cellulose, for example less than 5%, and that such an amount of caustic soda and water is used to dissolve the cellulose ganthate.
that the solution obtained contains about 3 analytically determinable cellulose and about 5% NaOH; the viscosity of the viscose produced in this way is 1 to 2 degrees compared to glycerol of 31 'Be (specific weight 1.26).
Immediately after the cellulose ganthate has dissolved, 60 parts of monochloroacetic acid are dissolved in 60 parts of water and added to the viscose, neutralized with sodium bicarbonate; well stirred in and the resulting solution is left to age at 15 ° C. During the aging process, the solution is filtered three times through cotton and, after aging for a total of 7 hours, is spun as follows:
The spinning solution is pressed at a speed of 3.7 once a minute through a platinum nozzle with 1'00 holes 0.08 mm in diameter into a bath that has a coagulating and plasticizing effect which contains 65% H2S04 and has a temperature of <B> 16 '</B> C; the immersion length of the thread in the sulfuric acid is 80 cm. The thread is then allowed to pass 120 cm through the air and wound onto a bobbin , which rotates at such a speed that a spinning speed of 18 m per minute is achieved.
In the air passage, three glass rollers are arranged at an angle to each other, over which the thread runs in order to give the thread an additional stretching or pulling effect. The lower part of the bobbin is immersed in water so that the sulfuric acid is removed or considerably diluted as soon as the thread reaches the bobbin. The threads are then washed, cleaned, twisted and finished in the usual way.
The thread thus obtained consists of individual threads of 0.6 to 0.8 deniers.

<I> l) </I> Method of operation as in f), but with the difference that the spinning solution is conveyed at a speed of 30 cm per minute, that the spinning speed is approximately 10'0 to 1 \ G0 m per minute is that the thread is not subjected to any additional stretching and that the immersion length of the thread is 80 to 10.0 cm.
V1. <I> (a </I> to e). The procedure is as in any of Examples I (a to e), with the difference that instead of 60 parts of mono-chloroacetic acid, 60 parts of α-bromobutyric acid are used.
The strength of the coagulating and plasticizing bath is as follows: Spinning type a) 68 to <B> 70% </B> H = 80 "" b) 70 to 71% HZSO "" c) 71 to <B> 72 % </B> H @ S0i, 31 d) 67 to 69% 112S04. VII. (A to e). The procedure is as in any one of Examples I (a to e), but with the difference that 40 parts of α-bromobutyric acid are used in place of the l @ionochloroacetic acid.
The concentration of the coagulating and plasticizing bath is as in Examples I (a to e). VIIl. <I> (a </I> to e). The procedure is as in any of Examples I (a to e), but with the difference that 30 parts of dichloroacetic acid are added to the viscose instead of the monochloroacetic acid. The strength of the coagulating and plasticizing bath is as in Examples VII (a to e). <I> IX. </I> (a to e).
Procedure as in any of Examples IV (a to e), but with the difference that 30 parts of dichloroacetic acid are used instead of monochloroacetic acid. The strength of the coagulating and plasticizing bath is as in Examples VI (a to e).
It is advisable to determine the most suitable strength of the coagulating and plasticizing bath in each case by means of a preliminary test. .
According to the above examples it is possible to achieve rayon which has a dry strength of over 2 g per denier, a wet strength of over 1.5 g per denier and an extensibility of 7% and more.
It can also be spun in all examples without any stretching, for example in a coagulating and plasticizing bath of short, moderate or greater length and without any device that gives the threads any special stretch between the spinneret and the winding device could give, for example, without any change in direction of the Fa dens, without the use of fixed or movable rods or rollers, hooks or differential rollers or the like.
In contrast to what one would expect from experience with spinning viscose in strongly acidic baths, threads of almost the same or not significantly lower strength and usually greater, at least the same elongation as with special ones are obtained Stretching of the spun threads, regardless of whether the spinning speed used is high. (for example more than 60 m per minute), normal (30 to GO m per minute) or even below normal (for example 10 to 3-0 m per minute).
The process, in which spinning is carried out without any special stretching, also delivers good results when the air gap is significantly shortened (for example 40 to 70 cm).
. X. A spinning solution, as described in one of the preceding examples, is allowed to enter in a known manner through a suitable funnel or slot in one of the coagulating and plasticizing baths mentioned in the preceding examples and the coagulated film bath after passing through this bath in a known manner Way washed and dried. In the previous examples, a shorter or longer matured alkali cellulose can also be used to produce the viscose.
In the preceding examples, monobromoacetic acid or monoiodoacetic acid can be used instead of monochloroacetic acid and halogen derivatives of another fatty acid or substituted fatty acid can be used instead of the halogen fatty acid derivatives used in the previous examples, for example α-chloropropionic acid or α-bromopropionic acid or α-chlorobern - stinic acid or α-bromosuccinic acid or ß-chlorolactic acid, etc.
The alkali cellulose used in the preceding examples for the production of viscose can be left to mature at 15 or 20 C for a shorter or longer period, for example 24 to 79 hours.
