Description

  La     fig.    1 représente en plan le mouvement  de l'appareil, sorti de son boîtier non repré  senté;  La     fig.    2 est une même vue en plan, six  cadrans fixes (3), ainsi que six cadrans mo  biles (2) et une barrette d'arrêt (1) ayant été  enlevés pour laisser voir le mécanisme;  La     fig,    3 représente en plan, et la     fig.    4  en élévation, l'une des principales pièces ;  Les     fig.    5 et 6, 7 et 8, 9 et 10, 11 et 12,  13 et 14, 15 et 16, 17 et 18, 19 et 20, 21    et 22, 23 et 24, 25 et 26     représentent    d'au  tres pièces principales de l'appareil;

Device to add automatically. the object of the invention is an apparatus for making the additions automatically. It has at least one adder group comprising at least two elements, the first used to compose units, the second tens.

The accompanying drawings represent, by way of example, an embodiment of the apparatus according to the invention, comprising two adding groups arranged in parallel and each having three elements; the first of these elements being used to compose the units, the second the tens, the third the hundreds.

  Fig. 1 shows in plan the movement of the device, taken out of its case, not shown; Fig. 2 is the same plan view, six fixed dials (3), as well as six moving dials (2) and a stopper bar (1) having been removed to allow the mechanism to be seen; Fig, 3 is a plan, and fig. 4 in elevation, one of the main rooms; Figs. 5 and 6, 7 and 8, 9 and 10, 11 and 12, 13 and 14, 15 and 16, 17 and 18, 19 and 20, 21 and 22, 23 and 24, 25 and 26 represent other main pieces of the device;

Fig. 27 represents an addition group in elevation with an axial section of the tens element and its reference to hundreds.

One of the groups is composed of the elements A, B, C; it is shown marking the total 123.

The second group is composed of the elements, ts A.2, B2, C2; he is pictured scoring the total 034.

A stop bar (1) is common to both groups; it is notched six notches (d) at the rate of three for each group.

Everything is mounted on a plate (P). On this plate (P) are screwed six axes (12) for the elements, two supports (13) for the stop bar (1), four axes (14) for gearboxes (9), two cores (15) for pawls (17) and two tensioners (16) for pawl springs (18).

Six fixed dials (3), used to compose the numbers, carry the figures from 1 to 9; these dials are each pierced with a window (e); they are screwed to the top (each of the six axes of the respective elements and are therefore fixed and integral with the plate via these axes (12).

The elements rotate horizontally on these axes (12) in a clockwise direction. The rotation in the other direction is prevented by pawls (17), respectively (17b) and (17a).

The height play of each element is limited by its fixed dial.

Movable dials (2) carry the totalizing figures from 0 to 9 which can be painted in different colors for each of the groups.

For each element, these numbers are individually visible through the window (e) of the dial (3): The dial (2) is also drilled, near its periphery; of 10 equi distant holes (f) at the rate of one hole with regard to each figure. These holes are used to make it turn by means of an ad hoc punch (not shown), as follows: such a punch is introduced into the hole which is located opposite the number on the dial (3) that is wants to add and we give a rotational movement to the dial (2) in the direction of the needles of a watch. This movement is necessarily stopped as soon as the punch comes into contact with the corresponding notch of the bar rette (1).

The two groups are absolutely identical.

  The element of the units (C), respectively (C2), comprises: a ratchet (17), a plate (7) and its fork (4), a tube (8), a pawl (17) and its spring (18) ), a spring tensioner (16), a fixed dial (3), a movable dial (2), an axis (12), two screws (19) and (20), a pawl core (15).

The fork (4) is fixed to the plate (7) by means of screws or rivets.

The ratchet (11), the plate (7) and its chette furnace (4), as well as the mobile dial (2), are fixed on the tube (8). These five parts are integral and form the rotating part of the element, so that, if the dial (2) is rotated in the manner described above, the whole turns at an equal angle, i.e. : a tenth of a turn, if the number you add is 1; two seconds of a turn, if the number is 2, etc.

In addition, this adjustment is such that in the rest position of the ratchet (17), ratchet (11) pair (position visible at C in fig. 2), the number on the dial (2) marking the total is framed. in the window (e) of the dial (3). And if it is the number 9 which is in said counter (e), the plate (7) and its oven (4) are in the position shown at 02 in fig. 2, so ready to turn a toothed gear (9) of two teeth if we add a unit.

The toothed gear (9) has six teeth, it rotates on an axis (14) and its height clearance is limited by a screw (21). It is actuated by element C on each passage of the fork (4), therefore each time the cycle of ten units is closed; it rotates with two teeth and transmits this movement to element B by meshing with a toothed wheel (6).

The fixed part of element B and of each of the elements is the same as that of element C, ie: an axis (12) at the top of which is fixed a dial (3) by means of a screw (19).

The rotating part of the element B com also carries a toothed wheel (6). This toothed wheel has 20 teeth; it is freely adjusted on a turning of the ratchet (10), and its height clearance is limited by a ron delle (5). This toothed wheel (6) carries a spring-loaded pawl (17b) which, by acting in the teeth of the ratchet (10), enables it to turn the entire element B by a tenth of a turn when it is itself. even operated by the toothed gear (9).

The toothed gear (9) and the toothed wheel rotate only under the action of the plate (7), fork (4) couple of element C; in all other cases, these two parts are fixed.

This free adjustment of the toothed wheel (6) on the ratchet (10) makes it possible to rotate the element B, when one wants to add one or more tens. The operation of said element B is thus the same as that of element C. Its rotation counterclockwise is prevented by the pawl (17b).

The action of element B on a gear (9a) is identical to that of element C on the gear (9). This gear (9a) in turn meshes with a gear (611) of the hundreds element A.

This element of hundreds A rie does not have a plate-fork pair if, as in this embodiment, it is not itself followed by a toothed reference to the thousand and a fourth element. It works in the same way as the first two elements, and its rotation in the other direction is prevented by a spring-loaded pawl (17 ").

The movable dials (2) may each include a crown having the same outer diameter as said movable dial (2), an inner diameter greater than the fixed dial (3) and a height such that said fixed dial ( 3) is framed there. The ten equidistant holes (f) are, in this case, extended in said ring.

The six fixed dials (3) and the stop bar (1) can form one and the same part.

The device with two adding groups allows two different additions to be made simultaneously on each of the groups. We can make the same addition on each of the groups, either in double parts, and thus have the proof that the numbers were correctly composed.

Such an apparatus, in which each group has three elements, allows two different additions to be made simultaneously up to 999; it will therefore be advantageously used to total the points in the card game, for example, where each of the opponents can use the group facing him to add up his points.

A single adding group device can be used, for example, in the retail trade to total amounts due for multiple items. The additive group of such an apparatus can be composed of a variable number of elements: the first of these elements serving to compose the units; the second being used to dial the tens; the third the hundreds; the fourth is the miles, etc.

From which it emerges that such a device, of which the adder group has four elements for example, makes it possible to add names up to 9999, that is to say 10000 when the elements mark again 0000, which corresponds to one hundred francs, if the added numbers represent francs and cen times. If the adder group has five elements, the device can add up to 100,000, i.e. f000 francs, etc.
