Description
Protective cover for light or air-sensitive goods of all kinds. The invention is an improved protective cover for light respectively. All kinds of air-sensitive goods, in particular food, books, textile goods, etc.
It is known, such shells, made of films of polymeric organic substances ent containing masses z. B. paper, regenerated cellulose, superficially saponified cellulose acetate, etc. exist to soak with a solution of aesculin or quinine sulfate to make them impermeable to ultraviolet rays. The protective covers produced in this way, however, have the disadvantage that they release the additives incorporated into them under the action of moisture. So z. B. by the moisture of food packaged in such cases, some of the additives mentioned are transferred to the food.
According to the invention, this disadvantage is avoided by absorbing the ultraviolet rays of the film by incorporating those bodies that not only have the required optical properties, but also have substantive character and are therefore firmly attached to the film material used to produce the protective cover can no longer be removed by moisture.
If necessary, the colored or colorless bodies offset in this way with ultraviolet rays absorbing films can also be added bodies which, such as. B. Hydroquinone, prevent oxidation of the former body.
Example 1 A film made of gelatin is soaked in a 2% solution of primulin at the usual temperature. The foil can be soaked in water without damage. In order to produce the necessary suppleness, treatment with glycerine can be carried out in a manner known per se after soaking.
Example 2 A film made of regenerated cellulose is impregnated at 70 ° C. with a 2-5% strength aqueous urea solution of p-aminobenzoyl-p-phenylenediaminesulfonic acid sodium.
If necessary, 1-5% hydroquinone can also be added to the solution. A follow-up treatment with glycerine to increase the suppleness can take place.
Example 3: A film made of regenerated cellulose is impregnated with an aqueous solution of dim-aminobenzoyl-diaminostilbene disulfonic acid, watered and then treated with a glycerine bath.
