Method of propulsion and lift in a fluid. The present invention relates to a method of propulsion and lift: in a fluid.
Until now, mechanical motor devices have been used for this purpose, the energy of which is transmitted to. another mechanical system was to be used to move or support said body in the surrounding fluid.
This is done either through the intermediary, for example, of: a propeller, or directly, by the reaction: of the exhaust gases: due to any combustion acting without an intermediate member: on the surrounding fluid, like this is the case for rockets.
According to the present invention, we obtain dra pressures similar to: those which: are exerted on the wings: of a moving propeller by blowing one or more fluid sheets on one or more wings fixed to the body on which must s '' exert the propulsion or: lift thrust - To: create this or these fluid layers, which must act on the wing so as to set in motion a large mass of the surrounding fluid, and this almost perpendicular to the movement: of the or tablecloths, you can use:
directly the combustion of a body, either in a burner arranged axially, or: in an annular ramp: of burners.
It is also possible to envisage either the use of a centrifugal fan, or that of any other means which would set in motion one or more layers: of fluid acting on one or more wings :, with: rectilinear, circular directrix, or other.
In the accompanying drawings, there is shown, by way of example, various devices for implementing the method, which is the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows in section a burner thruster arranged axially, with wing. rectilinear directrix, for body moving in air; Fig. 2 shows a thruster with a burner ramp: and a circular guide wing; Fig. 3 represents a propellant to. centrifugal fan. According to fig. 1, the body: b, on which the thrust is to be exerted, is surrounded by: air a.
It comprises a burner c and a combustion and expansion chamber d in which the fuel mixed with excess air arriving through the nozzles e burns. The mixture of combustion gases and excess air forms at the outlet f of the combustion chamber the fluid sheet acting on the wing g, connected to the body b. It is created in h at the dorsal part of the wing g a depression, tan say that part of the fluid -of the sheet, not under the ventral part of the wing is deviated according to the arrow i .
By k are designated the air streams called through the gap or channel 3, by 1, m the air streams called into the region h, by p, q < / I> two components of the force to which the wing g is subjected.
The operation is as follows: the burner throws the ignited fuel into the combustion chamber at high speed. This ignited fuel reduces its speed in the combustion chamber d by increasing its volume by the additional fluid entering through the orifices e.
The fluid stream thus formed exits in the form of a sheet through the outlet orifice f, strikes the wing fixed to the body and thus subjects it to the force whose components have been called p and q; the call for depression acts on the whole of the fluid surrounding the threads 1, m, k, carrying a quantity of movement corresponding to the component q.
According to fig. 2, there is provided, in addition to the axial burner t, a series of additional burners u, placed very close to the outlet orifice f of the layer of gas created - and which must blow at high speed on the annular wing g.
According to fig. 3, the movement of the fluid layer is created by a centrifugal fan v, driven by a motor w, which blows on the annular wing g.
It goes without saying that the devices described are given only by way of example and that many modifications could be made thereto, without departing from the scope of the present invention; one could for example, provide, in the case of FIGS. 1 and 2, the filling of parts b with combustible liquid feeding the burners c and u, using pipes or fins of the tines for fixing said burners on part b, the fuel being stored under pressure in these parts.
