Description

Process for the preparation of an oil-soluble bismate salt. The main patent relates to a process for the production of an oil-soluble bismuth salt, which is characterized in that one mole of bismuth nitrate is reacted with two moles of the sodium salt of camphenilanic acid and one mole of the sodium salt of salicylic acid in aqueous solution.

It has now also been found that an oil-soluble bismuth salt can also be obtained if the sodium salt of salicylic acid is replaced by the sodium salt of acetylsalicylic acid in comparison with the “method described above.

The present patent accordingly relates to a process for the production of an oil-soluble bismuth salt, which is characterized in that one mole of bismuth nitrate is reacted with two moles of the sodium salt of camphenilanic acid and one mole of the sodium salt of acetylsalicylic acid in an aqueous solution.

The new product thus obtainable forms a white salt that decomposes when heated and is oil-soluble and water-insoluble. Its oil solution is intended to be used for Reil purposes, in particular for the parenteral treatment of protozoal diseases.

Example: 84 g of campbenilanic acid and 18 g of acetylsalicylic acid are dissolved together as sodium salts in 150 cm 'of water and a solution of 49 g of bismuth nitrate in 450 cm3 of 20 percent mannitol solution is allowed to flow. The further processing takes place analogously to the example of the main patent.
