Slot-controlled two-stroke internal combustion engine with cylinders arranged in series. The invention relates to a slot-controlled two-stroke internal combustion engine with cylinders arranged in series, in which the scavenging slots are arranged laterally next to the exhaust slots at the inner end of the cylinder and. in which the: rinsing agent is directed against the cylinder wall opposite the exhaust slots, where an even number of rinsing channels are assigned to each cylinder.
The invention aims to achieve a compact and economic design of the machine block by sensible arrangement of the inner end of the cylinder be sensitive channels.
The invention consists in that, in each cylinder, one half of the flushing channels starts from one side and the other half of the flushing channels from the other longitudinal side of the machine block. In this case, the cylinders arranged in a row can be moved very close to one another, so that short overall lengths of the machine block can be achieved. The flushing channels are easily accessible from the long sides of the machine block for the purpose of machining and cleaning. In this way, the mechanical and thermal stresses on the block can be reduced and structural weight saved.
A particularly advantageous embodiment is that each cylinder is assigned two exhaust ducts and at the same time in each cylinder the one exhaust duct opens out on one side and the other exhaust duct on the other long side of the machine block, with the exhaust ducts in each cylinder Flushing channels are approximately rectified. In this case, the cylinder center plane determined by the exhaust slots coincides with the longitudinal center plane of the machine block, and the cylinder spacing can be reduced to a minimum with good accessibility to all channels.
With only one exhaust duct per cylinder, advantageous designs are achieved if the exhaust ducts of two adjacent cylinders face each other and open out on different long sides of the machine block, or if the exhaust ducts of the neighboring cylinders face away from each other and open out on the same long side of the machine block. In both cases, the channels in the machine block can be nested to such an extent that the cylinder spacing and thus the overall length of the machine block can be reduced.
The object of the invention is illustrated in the drawing in several embodiments, play. 1 shows a horizontal cross-section through a six-cylinder engine, FIG. 2 shows a partial vertical longitudinal section thereof, FIG. 3 shows a six-cylinder engine in section,
FIG. 4 shows a horizontal cross section through an eight-cylinder and FIG. 5 through a four-cylinder machine. In the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2, the cylinders 1 to 3 are arranged at a distance a from each other in a row and combined to form a block 5, on which the cylinder head 6 by means of the device 7 is placed. The scavenging slots 8, 8 'are arranged on both sides of the exhaust slots 9, 9' at the inner end of the cylinder.
The scavenging ducts 10, 1,0 'start from the longitudinal sides 11, 11' of the machine block 5 and are directed tangentially to the cylinder wall 12 lying opposite the exhaust slots 9, 9 '. In each cylinder, the one exhaust duct 13 opens out on the longitudinal side 11 and the other exhaust duct 13 'on the longitudinal side 11' of the engine block 5, the exhaust ducts being directed parallel to the scavenging ducts 10, 10 '.
Furthermore, in each cylinder the one flushing channel 10 opens out on the longitudinal side 11 and the other flushing channel 10 'on the longitudinal side 11' of the machine block. All channels are symmetrical to the longitudinal center plane L.
The flushing flows 14, 14 'enter via the flat piston head 15 essentially perpendicular to the cylinder axis 1'6, combine in the longitudinal center plane L, rise in a common flow 17 at the cylinder wall 12 opposite the exhaust slots 9, 9' towards the cylinder wall 12 Cylinder cover 6, are deflected on this and guided essentially along the opposite cylinder wall 18 to the exhaust slots 9, 9 '. The relatively long flushing channels 10, 10 'achieve good guidance of the flushing streams 14, 14', so that the resulting stream 17 travels a long way through the cylinder and thus effects a good flushing of the same.
The good accessibility of the individual channels enables them to be easily processed, so that the dimensions of the flushing channels can be precisely matched to one another. Due to the parallel position of the flushing and exhaust ducts, the cylinder distance a and thus the construction length of the machine block can be kept as small as possible. The arrangement of the channels is not only symmetrical to the longitudinal center plane L, but also to the transverse center plane Q of the machine block, so that simple model shapes result.
Each injection nozzle 19 is expediently inserted coaxially to the cylinder in the cylinder head 6.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 3, the channels 10, 10 'and 1-3, 13' are inclined to the cylinder axis 16, while the piston 15 is arched. The flushing flows 14, 14 ′ are thereby directed towards the cylinder cover 6 and only combine in the upper part of the cylinder wall 12 to form a collective flow 17.
The cylinder cover 6 is here conveniently combined with the machine block 5 and arched upwards according to the shape of the piston. In place of the injection nozzles 19 spark plugs 20 have come.
In the embodiment of FIG. 4, the exhaust hole 9, 9 'of each cylinder open into a single exhaust duct 13. The exhaust ducts 13 each of two adjacent cylinders 1, 2 and 3, 4 face each other and open on different longitudinal sides 11, 11 'of the machine block 5. The channel arrangement for each cylinder pair is here about the central axis of the cylinder pairs 1, 2 and 3, 4 centrally symmetrical.
The through the exhaust slots 9, 9 'be certain cylinder center plane differs for each cylinder only by a relatively small angle from the longitudinal center plane of the machine block 5. In this embodiment - seen in the longitudinal direction of the machine block - the cool zones of the flushing ducts 10, 10 'are related to the hot zones of the exhaust ducts 13 for the cylinder pairs 1, 2 and 3, 4, respectively.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 5, the exhaust ducts 13 of the adjacent cylinders 1, 2 and 3, 4 face away from one another and open out on the same longitudinal side 11 'of the engine block, so that a single exhaust manifold is sufficient. The direction of the mouth of the exhaust ducts 13 coincides approximately with the direction of the .Spülkanäle 10 'on the same side.
On one longitudinal side of the machine block 11 ', the cool zones of the scavenging ducts 10' alternate with the poor zones of the exhaust ducts 13, while the other longitudinal side of the machine block 11 is kept continuously cool. Here, too, it is possible to obtain a short cylinder spacing a with a simple duct layout.
The invention is not limited to these exemplary embodiments, and two and three-cylinder machines of the block type can also be designed according to the invention, regardless of whether they are air or mixture compressing machines.
How the scavenging air is fed to the individual cylinders, whether by a special blower or via the crankcase of the cylinder, is irrelevant to the invention. Instead of two flushing channels, a different even number of flushing channels could also be assigned to each cylinder.
