Safety device for locking the steering device of a motor vehicle. The invention relates to a safety device Si for locking the steering device of motor vehicles that run without spark ignition, such. B. vehicles powered by heavy fuel oil. These vehicles do not have the usual ignition device, so the known steering column locks combined with the ignition switch cannot be used.
In order to safely avoid that the engine can be operated with the steering device locked, the safety device is designed according to the inven tion so that the steering device can only be locked and unlocked when the fuel supply is switched off.
In the drawing, an embodiment example of the subject invention is Darge provides. 1 shows a longitudinal section of a steering column lock, FIG. 2 shows a section through the lock along the line 2-2 of FIG. 1, FIG. 3 shows a view of the lock from the rear and schematically other parts of the safety device, FIG. 4 the arrangement of the safety device on a 'vehicle.
In the figures, 10 denotes the steering column of a vehicle. The housing 11 of a steering lock is attached to it, in which a locking member 12 with a spring-loaded locking bolt 13 guided therein and a lock body 14 of a mortise lock lying transversely to the locking member are accommodated. Furthermore, a switch 15 for a starter engine is built on the housing.
The roller-shaped locking member 12, which is slidable in a tubular part 16 of the housing, has a semicircular recess 17 which extends approximately to the center of the roller, and at the base of the recess a slot 18 parallel to the roller axis and another slot 18 to this Slit vertical slot 19. A disc 20 engages in the recess and is attached to the rotatable part 21 of the lock body '14. It lies in the plane of the slot 18. A bolt 2 \ 2 sits eccentrically on this disk. which engages in the slot 19.
The rotatable lock part 21 is extended by a rod 23 which passes through the base plate 24 of the switch 15. At the end of the rod a crosshead 25 with two arms 26 and 27 is attached. A spring 28 is attached to the base plate as a movable contact member with two tongues 29 and 30. The tongue 29 is opposite a fixed contact 31, with which the push-button switch 40 serving to control a magnetic switch 32 for a starter 33 is connected, and the tongue 30 is above a contact 34 to which the charge control lamp 35 of the system is connected. A button 36 is seated on the contact spring and lies in the path of the arm 26, so that the switch is closed when the arm strikes the button.
To the side of the lock body in the housing there is a pull rod 37, which is used to open and shut off the fuel supply. This rod is guided so that it lies in the way of the arm 27 and prevents rotation of the lock body when it is fully inserted. In this position of the rod, the fuel supply is open. A recess 38 is made on the rod, which is located in the plane of movement of the arm 27 when the rod is pulled out, i.e. when the fuel supply is switched off, so that the lock body 14 is rotated and the locking bolt is brought into the locking position. can be. In this position, the arm 27 lies in the recess of the push rod and thus prevents it from being displaced, so that the fuel supply can be geöff net.
In Fig. 4, a vehicle system is shown with a heavy oil engine 50, an injection pump 51 and a starter motor 33, also with. the steering column to which the steering lock with the pulling device for the fuel supply is attached. In order to be able to lock the steering device when the vehicle is stationary, the driver must first pull out the pull rod. As a result, on the one hand, the fuel supply is shut off and, on the other hand, the rotatable lock part 21 is released the rotary movement. When turning the lock part, the locking member 12 is moved with the locking bolt against the steering column and comes into engagement with one of the bores 52 in the steering column 53. This device ensures.
that the vehicle can never be put into operation as long as the steering device is locked and, on the other hand, the steering cannot be locked as long as the vehicle is in operation.
