  Verfahren zur Darstellung eines zur   Sehädlingsbekämpfung    verwendbaren    Eondensationsproduktes.   



   Es wurde gefunden, dass durch Kondensation von Ben. zaldehyd-o-sulfoneäure mit x, x-Dichlorbenzylmercapta n, dargestellt aus x, x-Dichlorbenzylchlorid, wie es durch   Chlo-      rierung    von Benzylchlorid erhÏltlich ist, in Gegenwart saurer   Eondensationsmittel    ein wasserl¯sliches, bestÏndiges Tetrachlorbenzylmercaptal der Benzaldehyd-o-sulfonsÏure erhalten werden kann, welche Verbindung hervorragend zur Verwendung   als Schäd-      lingsbekämpfungsmittel, insbesondere    zum   Immunisieren    gegen   Kleidermotten    geeignet ist.

   Das neue   Eondensationsmittel    stellt nach dem Trocknen und Mahlen ein helles Pulver dar, das in Wasser loslich ist und   schwer-    l¯sliche Blei- und Eisensalze bildet.



   Beispiel:
20 Teile   x,    x-Dichlorbenzylmercaptan (1/10   Mol.),    dargestellt aus   x,      x-Dichlorbenzylchlo-    rid, das seinerseits durch Chlorierung von Benzylchlorid gewonnen wird, und 11,5 Teile   Benzaldehyd-o-sulfonsäure    79% ig (1/20 Mol.) werden in 55   Volumteilen    Eisessig gelost und die L¯sung mit SalzsÏurega s gesÏttigt.



  Nachdem das Reaktionsgemisch wÏhrend   15    Stunden bei gewöhnlicher Temperatur   gestanden    ha. t, wird es in 300 Teile Wasser eingerührt, wobei auf Zusatz von gesättigter    Kochsalzlösung das abgeschiedene dick-    flüssige Öl sich gut abtrennt. Im Vakuum getrocknet, bildet es ein pulverisierbares, helles, in Wasser lösliches Produkt. Das Tetraohlorbenzylmercaptal der Benzaldehyd  o-sulfonsäure    bildet schwer l¯sliche Blei- und Eisensalze.
