Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung von Papier. Es ist bereits bekannt, bei der Herstellung von Papier leimend wirkende Hilfsstoffe -dem Leimungs und FLlungemittel enthaltenden G-anzstoff zwischen Holländer und Auflauf auf das Maschinensieb in Formeiner dünnen Dispersion stetig zuzusetzen,
wobei varteil- haft die Dispersion des leimend wirkenden Hilfsstoffes vor dem Zusatz zwecks Reifung einige Zeit bei niederer Temperatur .gelagert wird.
Bei -der Durchführung dieses Verfah- rensi zeigte es sich, dass die erwünschte Ein wirkung der leimenden Hilfsstoffe auf den Ganzstoff auch bei Zugabe unmittelbar hinter dem Holländer und ,dadurch bedingter ,gründ- licher Vermischung erst nach einem gewissen Zeitablauf beendet ist,
so dass besonders bei hohen Bahngeschwindigkeiten der Papier maschine ein nicht unbeträohtl'icher Verlust von feinem Stoff in den ersten Teilen: der Siebpartie auftritt.
Es wurde nun gefunden, dass bei diesem Verfahren -eine praktisch verlustfreie Fasier- bindungdadurch erreicht wird, dass die Hil±s.- stoffdispersion vor dem Reifen durch Zusatz von Elektrolyten., zum. Beispiel eines Alumi- niumsalzes.,
auf einen pg-Wert unterhalb 7, vorteilhaft zwischen 4,8 und 5, gebracht wird. Vorteilhaft wird hierbei die Hilfs- stoffdispersion vor dem. Reifen und Zweck- mässig vor dem endgültigen Verdünnen mit kaltem Wasser und Einstellen auf den sauren
pH-Wert mit einer geringen Menge (das heisst wenige Prozente des leimenden Hilfsstoffes) einer 100%igen Harzseife, gegebenenfalls unter Zusatz von Formaldehyd, vermischt:
Gemäss -einer Ausführungsform des Ver- fahrens der Erfindung wird die Hilfsstoff- dispersion meiner Menge dem Papierstoff zugefügt,
die nur .einen Bruchteil der bei der tierischen Leimung im Holländer zugesetzten Protesnleimungsmittel ausmacht. Im Hollän der werden bei dieser Arbeitsweise keine Proteinleimungsmittel zugesetzt.
<I>Ausführungsbeispiel:</I> 1000 g guten Knochenleim lässt man in etwa 5 Liter kaltem Wasser quellen, setzt danach genügend heisses Wasser unter steti- gem Umrühren hinzu, bis der Leim vollsbän- dig aufgelöst ist.
Hierbei soll die Tempera tur unterhalb <B>50'</B> C, vorzugsweise unterhalb 40' C, bleiben. Die Leimlösung wird dann mit etwa 90 Liter möglichst kaltem Wasser auf l1/2 ö Knochenleimgehalt verdünnt, und zwar derart,
dass die zu verdünnende Leim- lösung nicht koaguliert. Am besten wird das kalte Wasser in die konzentrierte Leimlösung schnell und unter heftigem Umrühren zu- gesetzt. Nunmehr wird
eine dünne Lösung von 50 g voll verseiftem Harzleim sowie 20 eme Formaldehyd hinzugefügt und die Mischung mittels Aluminiumsulfat auf einen pH-Wert zwischen 4,$ und 5 eingestellt. Bei Ver wendung von freiharzhaltigem Leim,
wie zum Beispiel dem sogenannten Bewoidleim, wird dieser auf zirka 50 bis höchstens <B>100</B> g Harz im Liter verdünnt und die zur voll ständigen Verseifung erforderliche Menge Ätznatron in Laugenform unter gutem Um rühren hinzugesetzt. Der vollständig verseifte Leim muss klar <RTI
ID="0002.0078"> aussehen,. Die so zubereitete Hilfsstoffdispersion wird wenigstens 24 Stun den lang bei niederer Temperatur gelagert; welche besonders zu Anfang 20' C nicht übersteigen soll.
Bei Gebrauch wird die Dispersion zweck- mässig mit ungefähr der zehnfachen Wasser menge verdünnt, um auf jeden Fall eine ein wandfreie Mischung mit dem Stoff zu er zielen.
Die Menge der dem Ganzstoff zwischen Holländer und Auflauf auf das Maschinen- sieb zuzusetzenden Hilfsdispersion beträgt etwa 1 /"". Der aus einem Holländer von 6000 Liter Inhalt kommende Ganzstoff besteht beispielsweise bei 6 % <RTI

Die vorteilhafte Wirkung des neuen Ver fahrens macht sich auch in einer günstigen Zusammenballung der Teilchen bei der Stoff- rückgewinnung aus denn ahinenabwaseer bemerkbar.
