Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Kondensationsproduktes. Es wurde gefunden, dass man ein Kon densationsprodukt erhält, das auf Grund sei ner kapillaraktiven Eigenschaften als Netz-, Dispergier-, Emulgier-, Wasch- und Reini gungsmittel in der Textilindustrie und Fär berei Verwendung finden kann, wenn man 2-Heptadecyl-d -=midazolin, Formaldehyd und Natriumbisulfit aufeinander einwirken lässt.
Die Umsetzung verläuft nach folgendem Schema:

Es entsteht das Natriumsalz der 2-Heptade- cyl-d2-imidazolin-l-methansulfosäure, das ein hellgelbes, körniges Produkt darstellt.
Man kann die Umsetzung in Lösungs- oder Verdünnungsmitteln, zweckmässig unter Erwärmen, durchführen; man kann aber auch die Komponenten direkt ohne Zuhilfenahme von Lösungsmitteln zur Reaktion bringen, gegebenenfalls unter Verwendung eines Über schusses von Formaldehyd und Natriumbi- sulfid. Man kann zunächst den Formaldehyd auf das Natriumbisulfit einwirken lassen, zum Beispiel auch in Gegenwart des 2-Heptade- cyl-d2-imidazolins.
<I>Beispiele:</I> 1. In 29,4 g 2-Heptadecyl-d2-imidazo- lin werden bei 95-100 C langsam 27 g Formaldehydnatriumbisulfit eingetragen. Die Schmelze wird bis zur Wasserlöslichkeit auf <B>120-1300</B> C erhitzt. Nach etwa einer Stunde ist die Reaktion beendet. Nach dem Erkalten wird der Schmelzkuchen zerkleinert. Ausbeute 55 g. Das hellgelbe, körnige Produkt ist unter Schäumen leicht in Wasser löslich, 2.
Zu einer wässerigen Lösung von einem Mol Formaldehyd-Natriumbisulfit in etwa der vierfachen Menge Wasser lässt man bei etwa 450 C unter Rühren eine Lösung von 0,9 Mol 2-Heptadeoyl-d2-imidazolin in der doppel ten Menge Alkohol langsam zufliessen. Nach erfolgter Zumischung wird noch so lange auf etwa 50 C unter Rühren erwärmt, bis eine Probe sich in Wasser klar löst. Hierauf wird zur Trockne gebracht.
