Piece of rosin for coating counterbows and the like. The hard rosin that has hitherto been used exclusively for coating violin bows and the like has various shortcomings in practical use.
To get a new respectively. To completely saturate a washed violin bow with hard rosin, you have to rub it about 150 times, and to repaint a used violin bow, you have to rub it back and forth over the piece of rosin two to three dozen times. He not only requires a considerable amount of time and effort, but is also disadvantageous for the violin bow, since the hair reference suffers.
In addition, it is not that easy and only possible after a long period of practice to apply the rosin material in a fine and even distribution to the hair cover of the violin bow, especially since hard rosin is not weather-resistant and is therefore particularly difficult to wipe off.
According to the present invention, all of these deficiencies are to be remedied by a novel piece of colophony for coating billows and the like, which according to the invention is characterized in that it was formed by pressing colophony dust or flour.
The new rosin stick can be produced in detail as follows. The commercially available, cast rosin is comminuted to form rosin dust or flour by grinding, pounding, pressing or another suitable mechanical comminution process.
The rosin mass obtained in this way is then converted back into a solid form, again by mechanical treatment, that is by pressing, where any ingredients can be added to the rosin mass to improve the quality of the rosin pieces Either only mix with the golophonium dust or form a chemical bond with it.
This gives you the advantageous option of not only changing the fineness of the individual xolophonium particles as you like, but also arbitrarily regulating the degree of firmness of the finished piece of colophony by pressing more or less hard and thus complying with the wishes of customers to take into account the composition and hardness of the rosin to a large extent.
Pressing the rosin dust or flour into joints has proven to be a particularly expedient type of mechanical treatment. To do this, you bring the loose rosin mass into a tubular joint and press it together with the help of a press ram until the individual dust particles are combined into a solid body and this body has the desired hardness and strength.
The sticky nature of the fine rosin dust particles is very beneficial in achieving the intended purpose.
In this way, rosin pieces of any cross-sectional shape and any height can be produced. It is recommended for the production of larger quantities. to use a deeper joint and then saw or cut the resulting press rosin rod in its transverse direction into rosin pieces of the desired size by sawing or cutting. --Nlii consideration.
To make it easier to detach the piece of press rosin from the press die, a circular cross-sectional shape of the die is preferred.
