Description
B. Kalk, in neutrale, harzartige Produkte verwandelt.
Process for the production of a resin-like, almost water-white product from a natural resin. Artificial, resin-like products have already been obtained from natural resins in various ways. <B> So </B> one started from the <B> '</B> in the spruce resin or in the copal and in the resin acids containing natural resin has these acids by saturation with Meta.Iloxyden such. B. lime, transformed into neutral, resinous products.
The acids mentioned have also been filled with glycerol into corresponding resin acid glycerol esters. The products obtained in this way still essentially have the disadvantages of the starting materials, because they are mostly on the one hand. very dark. colored and on the other hand by no means satisfactory in terms of their hardness and elasticity. The resin acids saturated with metal oxides are also completely unusable for many purposes due to their metal content.
It has now been found that almost water-white, resin-like products can be obtained if a mixture of resin alcohols, as can be obtained by treating natural resins with reducing agents, with a mixture of compounds which release fatty acid residues, which in relation to the fatty acid residues present which corresponds to a naturally occurring fat or # 01 mixture of fatty acid esters on which it is based, condenses. The condensation product is a transparent to pale yellow colored, liquid body that is soluble in known organic solvents and fatty oils.
Such resin alcohols can be produced from the natural resin esters of resin acids by catalytic or other reduction processes. The various types of colophony as well as those fatty acid-containing or fatty acid-free resin acids separated from tall oil come into consideration as starting products for the resin alcohols, but also other natural ones. Resins such as copal, sandarac, amber resin and the like.
The condensation can be carried out in a technically advantageous manner and it usually takes place by simply melting the components together and heating them for a shorter or longer period to temperatures above <B> 100 </B> ', advantageously between 120 and 250 1' C. </B> Thereby see the passage of an indifferent gas flow for the acceleration of the condensation process <I> as </I> CY -ann the condens- ",
proved unfavorable. Furthermore, <B> 1 </B> sation can also be promoted in that small amounts of known catalysts, such as acids or salts, are added.
The resin-like condensation products are <B> depending </B> depending on their composition and method of manufacture, light to colorless liquid bodies, which are characterized by complete transparency in 2--, and good solubility in drying oils and solvents. They can be used in all resin manufacturing industries.
so for the production of 01-. Resin, cellulose and combination lacquers. in the varnish industry, as an anti-slip agent for flooring compounds and drive belts, in the manufacture of glues, e.g.
B. paper lines. Kits, adhesives of all kinds, in the preparation of gravure inks and as binders for printing inks of all kinds, also for leather and fabric printing and the like, for the production of rigid adhesives, adhesion fats and waxes, drawing fats, for impregnating textiles and other materials, for the production of flycatchers and pest control agents such as caterpillar glue, for the production of tree wax,
for the production of art objects and for the production of plastic masses or molded masses.
<I> Example: </I> A condensation product is obtained by condensing equimolecular amounts of rosin resin alcohol and the cream mixture of stearic acid, palmitic acid and oleic acid, which can be obtained from visual wine fat by saponification, at 140 <B> '</B>.
which is freed from the existing aiior (rll, nisehen fractions) by evaporation and then subjected to drying to a distillation in a high vacuum, the fractions of the anus materials that have not reacted being distilled off.
n el The condensation product obtained in this way in pure form is a liquid, light-colored resin that is used in the manufacture of polishing agents, as an additive in the manufacture of viscous lubricating oils, in the manufacture of impregnating agents for wood, paper, leather, textiles and Rubber can be used. Instead of the free acids, one can start from the same-acting derivatives, e.g. from the chlorides, but then in the presence of an acid sufficient to bind the hydrochloric acid released, one must, # e Alkali carbonate work.
