<tb> bekannter <SEP> Weise <SEP> metallisiert; <SEP> z.
<tb> keramischen <SEP> Schutzmantels <SEP> 2 <SEP> verlötet.
<SEP> Bei
Termination of a radiator made of refractory metal with a ceramic protective jacket. When using heating wires made of refractory metal, such as. B. tung fram, molybdenum, tantalum or some other metal, the melting point of which is above about 2400 'C, which are surrounded by a ceramic jacket, the gases, especially atmospheric oxygen, should keep away from the oxidation-sensitive metal core as much as possible, resulted the special task of designing terminations for the heating wires in such a way that air diffusing through to the heating wire is reliably avoided.
One possible design of such terminations is described in Patent No. 203650. Thereafter, the protective jacket is extended over the heating wire and a z. B. made of copper, nickel or iron-nickel-cobalt alloy best incoming metal pin pushed in, which is conductively connected to the heating wire. On the protruding from the protective sheath part of the metal pin is a socket (glans), suitably made of the same metal, z. B. copper, raised. With this off.
Forming the end closure, the metal pin protruding into the ceramic jacket forms a gas-tight closure so that air cannot penetrate the heating wire made of high-melting metal. However, the final effect is only available if the temperature at the connection point between the metal pin and the heating conductor is kept so high that the part of the metal pin reaching into the ceramic jacket takes on a plastic, doughy state and seals the ceramic jacket in a gas-tight manner.
Since the expansion coefficient of the metal pin, e.g. copper, is higher than the expansion coefficient of the ceramic, the copper pin presses itself very tightly against the ceramic jacket during heating.
It is done accordingly. the gas seal and

The metal pin 3 is then pushed into the end of the rod in such a way that a precise fit between heating conductor 1 and metal pin 3 is achieved.
The metal hose, which was pushed over the metallized end of the ceramic protective jacket, is soldered to the latter at 7 in a gastight manner.
The embodiment according to FIG. 2 differs from that according to FIG. 1 only in that the metal hose 5 is soldered on the right-hand side of the plug-in sleeve 4 at 6. When installing it does not matter whether the metal hose is first soldered to the ceramic protective jacket and then to the socket or in reverse order.
The embodiment according to FIG. 3 represents a modification of the embodiments according to FIGS. 1 and 2 in that the metallized layer at the end 7 of the ceramic protective jacket 2 so. it is strongly provided that the cutting of a thread in which the metal hose 5 is held in a gas-tight manner is made possible. The embodiment shown in Fig. 3 is shown at 6 a connection of the receptacle 4 with the metal hose 5 by its screwing environment.
The embodiment according to FIG. 4 provides instructions on how to connect the metal hose and protective jacket in such a way that, instead of the ceramic-side soldering, ring seals, e.g. B. from copper asbestos, step.
The embodiment shown looks a flange-shaped. End 8 of the ceramic protective jacket 2 in front of --which the sleeve-shaped edge 9 of the flexible metal hose 5 intended to accommodate the copper asbestos seals 10 is adapted accordingly .ureh flanging. In Fig. 5 and '6 further Abwand lungs of the same invention are provided when using a tubular heating conductor is.
In principle, the design and attachment of the flexible metal hose corresponds to the embodiment according to FIG. 1, as described above, the Me tallschlauch 5 on the one hand within the plug-in sleeve, z .. B. copper area 4, soldered on the pin 3, on the other hand with the metallized End 7 of the ceramic protective jacket 2 is soldered.
The inner end of the metal pin 3 is tapered and is fitted with this extension 11 in the end of the tubular heating core 1 exactly, then soldered to this ent neither according to FIG.
B. silver soldered, or according to FIG. 6 -by crimping 12 rigidly and tightly connected. The embodiments according to FIGS. 2, 3 and 4 can also be similar when using a tubular. Heating conductor can be combined and modified in connection with the features of versions 5 and 6.
In order to create a special safeguard against the oxidation of the metal pin 3, it is recommended to also silver, gold, nickel or platinum plating the latter.
In FIGS. 7 to 10 of the second group, four different versions of the end closure are shown. - Illustrated with - internally arranged compliant connection.
In FIG. 7, 3 denotes the metal pin attached to the heating conductor 1, made of silver, copper, etc., which protrudes from the ceramic protective jacket 2.
The end of the ceramic is firmly connected to the lower part of the sleeve 15 by a cement connection 16. The actual locking sleeve 14 screwed onto the partial sleeve 15 or fastened in some other suitable manner is connected to the metal pin 3 by means of a stranded metal conductor 13, this being soldered in the bottom 17 of the locking sleeve 14, for example, or otherwise fixed and fixed.
The space -existent- between the stranded conductor 13 and the socket wall 14 is as follows: be: pn.essen; that the deformation of the stranded conductor 13 caused by the change in length of the heating conductor is provided with sufficient play space.
According to Fig. 8, a conical, elastic metal cup 18 is attached to the metal pin 3, which protrudes from the ceramic jacket 2, the flat bottom of which is firmly connected to the end wall of the metal pin 3 by soldering, welding or riveting Edge on the screwable and cemented or soldered base piece 19 at 20 in the end closure 14 is held. The length changes of the heating conductor 1 respectively. Metal pin 3 are received here by the elastic metal cup 18.
According to FIG. 9, the compensating member between the metal pin 3 and the end closure sleeve 14 is formed by a type of helix 8, which consists of the same or a different material as the metal pin 3, and can also be machined directly from the metal pin 3 if necessary. The end of the helix 21 opens into a massive pin 22 which is screwed into the head wall 20 of the sleeve 14 or otherwise fastened in an electrically conductive manner.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 10, the arrangement of a special elastic compensating member between Me tallstift 3 on the one hand and receptacle 14 on the other hand is dispensed with by the metal pin 3 itself being designed as a resilient sliding contact.
According to the embodiment shown, for example, a leaf spring 23 is inserted into the ge slotted end of the metal pin 3, which presses the two halves of the rod end elastically against the inner wall of the socket 14 and causes a reliable sliding contact between it and metal pin 3, so that the any changes in length of the heating rod 1 respectively. Metal pin 3 are smoothly compensated chen without triggering mechanical stresses.
With regard to the simplification and reliability of the assembly, the receptacle is made in two or more parts. In the embodiments according to FIGS. 7 to 10, the execution of two partial sleeves 14 and 15 respectively. 14 and 20.
To completely remove harmful gas residues from the space between the metal hose and metal pin, it is advisable to introduce getter substances such as barium-magnesium, barium-calcium, etc. into this space. The gettering can be done during or after soldering.
