Description

Method for attaching handles to vessels made of metal with an inlay. The present invention relates to a method for attaching handles to vessels made of metal with an inlay. It is known to fasten these handles by riveting or welding them to the vessel wall The rivet heads inside the vessels create unhygienic dirt corners, which are particularly undesirable for vessels for the food industry. The rivets also become loose with heavy use. Welding the handles is not recommended for many metals, e.g. light metal , as the vessels are softened by the unavoidable annealing and thereby considerably weakened.

The present invention avoids the inconveniences caused by riveting or welding the handles to the vessel wall in that the handle is fastened to the edge insert directly or indirectly by means of a handle holder. The edge insert can be made of a stronger metal than the vessel, for example in the case of a vessel made of light metal, e.g. B. consist of iron. This attachment can be made by welding or another suitable method. Fixed handles are attached directly to the edge insert.

If, on the other hand, it is a movable handle, it is provided with a handle holder, which in turn is attached to the edge insert.

In the accompanying drawing, one embodiment of the method relating to the latter case is shown. The metal vessel is denoted by 1, the edge insert by 2, the handle holder by 3, and the handle by 4. The handle holder 3 is first attached to the edge insert 2 in a suitable manner, for example by welding. Then the handle 4 is pushed under the holder 3 and the edge insert is attached in the usual manner by flanging the edge of the vessel.
