Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines neuen Kondensationsproduktes. Es wurde gefunden, dass man zu einem neuen Kondensationsprodukt gelangt, wenn ein Benzimidazolgemisch, wie es auch o-Phe- nylendiamin und aus den im Kokosfett vor kommenden Fettsäuren erhältlich ist, in Ge genwart einer Säure mit dem Additionspro dukt von Trimethylamin an Methylolchlor- acetamid umsetzt.
Die Umsetzung wird zweckmässig in Ge genwart eines Lösungsmittels, wie Alkohol, Aceton, Dioxan, Eisessig, vorgenommen. Als Säure kann beispielsweise Salzsäure, Schwe felsäure, Essigsäure Anwendung finden.
Das neue Kondensationsprodukt ist eine halbfeste, hellbraune Masse, die von Wasser unter Zusatz von wenig Säure zu einer kla ren, schäumenden Lösung aufgenommen wird. Es kann als Textilhilfsstoff verwendet werden. <I>Beispiel:</I> 38 Gewichtsteile des Benzimidazolgemi- sches, wie es aus o-Phenylendiamin und aus den im Kokosfett vorkommenden Fettsäuren erhältlich ist, werden in 35 Volumteilen Eis essig gelöst und nach Zugabe von 26 Ge wichtsteilen des Additionsproduktes von Tri- methylamin an Methylolchloracetamid wäh rend 24 Stunden unter Rühren auf 90-l00 erhitzt.
Nach dem Abdestillieren des Lö sungsmittels erhält man das Kondensations produkt als halbfeste, hellbraune Masse, die in Wasser unter Zusatz von wenig Säure klar und unter Schäumen löslich ist.

The reaction is expediently carried out in the presence of a solvent such as alcohol, acetone, dioxane, glacial acetic acid. Hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, acetic acid, for example, can be used as the acid.
The new condensation product is a semi-solid, light brown mass that is absorbed by water with the addition of a little acid to form a clear, foaming solution. It can be used as a textile auxiliary. <I> Example: </I> 38 parts by weight of the benzimidazole mixture, as it is obtainable from o-phenylenediamine and from the fatty acids occurring in coconut oil, are dissolved in 35 parts by volume of glacial acetic acid and, after adding 26 parts by weight of the addition product of Tri - Methylamine on methylolchloroacetamide heated to 90-100 for 24 hours while stirring.
After the solvent has been distilled off, the condensation product is obtained as a semi-solid, light brown mass which is clear in water with the addition of a little acid and is soluble with foaming.
