Description

  

  Rippenzylinder für luftgekühlte Motoren.    Bei luftgekühlten Ein- und     Mehrzylin-          dermotoren    führte man bisher die Zylinder  einzeln als vollkommene Rotationskörper aus,  wobei ihre Kühlrippen aus dem Vollen her  ausgearbeitet wurden, weil sich durch dieses  Verfahren viel dichtere Rippen als durch  Guss herstellen lassen.  



  Bei dem Rippenzylinder gemäss der Er  findung verläuft     eine    Rippe an der Ober  fläche des Zylinders von einem Ende zum  andern in fortlaufenden Schraubenwin  dungen.  



  Die schraubenförmig verlaufende Rippe  lässt sich durch einfachere Mittel ausführen  als eine Mehrzahl von zur Zylinderachse  senkrechten Rippen und ausserdem ist der  Zylinder steifer. Eine so ausgebildete Rippe    hat stets eine geringe Neigung zum Kühl  luftstrom, so dass die Luft besser aufgewir  belt wird und mehr Wärme vom Zylinder  ableitet.  



  Die anliegende     Zeichnung    zeigt ein Aus  führungsbeispiel des erfindungsgemässen Zy  linders. Der Zylinder 1 hat an seiner Ober  fläche von oben bis -unten eine     einzige,     schraubenförmig verlaufende Rippe 2.

  In the ribbed cylinder according to the invention, a rib runs on the upper surface of the cylinder from one end to the other in continuous windings.



  The helically extending rib can be implemented by simpler means than a plurality of ribs perpendicular to the cylinder axis and, moreover, the cylinder is more rigid. A rib designed in this way always has a slight tendency towards the flow of cooling air, so that the air is better whirled up and more heat is dissipated from the cylinder.



  The attached drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the cylinder according to the invention. The cylinder 1 has a single, helically extending rib 2 on its upper surface from top to bottom.
