Beispiel <I>2:</I> In 1000 Gewichtsteile Pyridin werden unter Eiskühlung 200 Gewichtsteile Chlor- sulfonsäure langsam eingerührt.
Process for the preparation of a steering sulfur syrup of a nub dye. It has been found that a valuable, water-soluble, acidic leuco-sulfuric acid ester of the naphtothiophenindole series is obtained when the indigoid vat dye described in patent no. 2-riaphthoxytiophene and isatin-a-derivatives capable of coupling with the formula:
EMI0001.0012
converted into its water-soluble, acidic leuco-sulfuric acid ester by reduction and esterification using sulfur trioxide or such releasing agents in the presence of tertiary bases. The ester formed in very good yield is characterized in that it is printed on the textile fiber in a suitable manner and develops beautiful black nuances, which up to now could not be produced with leuco-sulfuric acid esters with the same fastness properties.
This fact is surprising insofar as the starting dye, according to the information in D.R.P. No. 453087 and English Patent No. 222120, only provides blue-gray tones when dyed from the vat.
<I> Example 1 </I> 85 parts by weight of the coupling product of isatin-a-chlorid and 8-chloro-1. 2-naphthoxy-thiophene (see English patent no. 222120) are voided. The leuco compound is precipitated from the vat with carbonic acid, sucked off, washed out and carefully dried in vacuo.
An esterification mixture is then prepared by dropping 90 parts by weight of chlorosulfonic acid in 270 parts by weight of dimethylaniline and 270 parts by weight of chlorobenzene, the air is displaced from the vessel with carbonic acid and the dry teuko compound is introduced.
After stirring for several hours at about 501C, the finished esterification is poured into a solution of 110 weight parts of soda in water, the organic solvents are blown off with steam, the remaining solution of the ester is filtered off and salted with it Cook salt out. It separates out oily at first, but soon solidifies when mixed. After isolating and drying in vacuo, the ester is obtained as a gray powder that easily dissolves in water. When a little sodium nitrite and excess mineral acid are added, the solution separates out gray-blue flakes.
The ester is printed onto the fiber in a suitable manner and, with oxidizing agents, bluish black tones with excellent fastness properties are developed, which can be modified as desired by adding small amounts of yellow or olive leucosulfuric acid esters.
Example <I> 2 </I> 200 parts by weight of chlorosulfonic acid are slowly stirred into 1000 parts by weight of pyridine while cooling with ice. Then 100 parts by weight of the dye from 8-chloro-1 are added. 2-naphtooxythiopheti and isatin-a-chloride and 60 parts by weight of iron powder. The temperature is now brought to 50 ° C. within one hour and held there for 4 hours.
The lightened solution is worked up in a solution of 330 parts by weight of soda in 3 liters of water and the pyridine is distilled off with steam. After filtration of the somewhat unchanged dye and iron sludge, the sodium salt of the acid leucosulfuric acid ester is precipitated with common salt (if necessary after prior concentration of the solution). The ester salt usually separates in a viscous manner, but solidifies after a short time and turns into a light gray powder after drying. The usual printing process gives a black with very good fastness properties on cotton or other fabrics.
