Forest fuel gasifier for explosive engines. The object of the present invention is a gasifier with: forest fuel for an explosion engine. h1 is characterized in that the hearth, in which the fuel distillation takes place and which is provided at its lower part with a grate arranged above an ashtray making at the same time:
gas fuel collector office. is throttled at. its upper part by an intake manifold, air regulated by an automatic valve, and surmounted by a carbonization chamber for the. transformation of the descending forest fuel as needed from a feed hopper placed above said chamber, the whole forming a distillation vessel housed:
in a double envelope leaving two concentric spaces intended. to be passed through successively by the distillation gas, with a view to recovering its heat in the interior space, by heating the fuel, and then cooling this gas in the exterior space, before its passage through,: purification and use devices adjacent to the gasifier.
The appended drawing represents, schematically, an embodiment of the gasoline which is the subject of the invention, given by way of example.
Fig. 1 is a vertical section.
Fig. 2 is a plan view of a fragment of the upper part of the gasifier. The right half of fig. 3 is an elevational view of the gasifier and the upper part of the left half is a section similar to that of FIG. 1, showing the fuel load.
The rega-presented gasifier comprises a hearth 1, of generally prismatic shape, for example with a circular or polygonal base, provided at its lower part with a grid 2 arranged above an ash-tray 3: serving at the same time as a collector of the gas generated.
At its upper part, the opening of the hearth is constricted by a ramp 4, in the form of an annular pipe intended for supplying air into the hearth and for maintaining combustion.
The hearth 1 is surmounted by a carbonization chamber 5, in which. the forest fuel is charred before entering hearth 1, where the actual disüllafion and the formation of fuel gas take place.
Above the chamber 5 is placed a feed hopper 6, in the form of a closed black funnel, intended to store the fuel supply. The hopper 6 is only partially shown has sin.
The hearth, the chamber and the hopper 6 form a distillation vessel housed in a first envelope 7, forming around these members a concentric space reserved for the circulation of the fuel gas, quickly recovering its heat, to be used for reheat the fuel filling the said organs.
A second concentric envelope. 8 surrounds the first casing 7 and also serves to lengthen the path of the fuel gas with a view to its cooling. For this purpose, the casing 8 is of a special construction with a zigzag section, in order to give the outer wall a large cooling surface. The drawing shows in a detailed and easily understandable way how these different parts are assembled.
The operation of the gasifier shown is very simple. The hearth 1, the carbonization chamber 5 and the. hopper 6 are filled with forest fuel, such as wood or charcoal, as shown in the cut on the left side of fi; -. 3. The annular ramp 4 is. connected by a pipe 9 to an automatic valve 10.
It is. also by this valve that ignites the fuel. The fire, fed by the air supply. acts. on the one hand, on the fuel filling the carbonization chamber and, on the other hand, on that of the hearth, where the distillation products are cracked. The fuel gas passes through the grid 2 to pass into the collector $ and thence into the space formed between the first casing 7 and the 1st hearth. The gas flow is shown in fig. 1 with arrows.
A horizontal partition wall 11, which is placed across the space between the casing 7 and the hearth, at the height of the ramp 4, is provided with openings which allow the fuel gas to be directed towards the upper part. , around chamber 5, before it passes through the space between the two envelopes 7 and 8,
The distillation gas then travels through this second space from top to bottom, cooling down, before reaching an outlet pipe 12, must it be directed to other purification and use units adjoining the gasifier and not shown.
The valve 10 could be provided with a device for supplying pressurized air, for example by fan, compressor, etc., in order to enable the outlet pipe 12 to obtain distillation gas under pressure. .
