Description

Head air cushions, especially for travel. The subject of the invention is a special head air cushion suitable for taking with you when traveling, which offers travelers on longer train journeys the convenience of resting in the rail car compartment backwards or to the side, without the driving vibrations being transmitted unbearably to the head.

The already known air cushions are less suitable for this purpose, on the one hand because they are usually quite large and consequently still take up an undesirably large amount of space in luggage even when the air is deflated, and on the other hand mainly because the previous air cushions, which, due to their format and overall design, are mainly intended as seat pads, cannot be properly attached to and secured to a rear and / or side wall.

By the present invention, a primarily usable as a travel pillow ble air cushion is created that is particularly adapted in its training to the new intended use. According to the invention, it consists of two air cushions connected by an intermediate web made of flexible material, each complete for itself, which allow the pillow to be attached to a flat rear wall as well as to window or door places in a corner and after the air has been deflated from both kis halves of the pillow can be folded onto half the base area of the pillow.

A head air cushion made in two parts in this way can, which is not the case with the previous air cushions, be folded into such a small space that when not in use it can be stored in a skirt, coat or handbag, for example, so it can be taken with you anywhere when traveling can and is always at hand. The flexible connection of the two halves of the pillow offers the advantage of attaching the pillow to a flat rear wall or, for corner seats, to two walls at right angles to each other.

The size of both pillow halves can be such that they cover an area just sufficient for the head to be supported, but there is no risk of the pillow slipping under the head due to the size of the pillow being too large.

To the pillow on the back wall or. on the back wall and one side wall without counter-leaning the head to be able to set absolutely slip-off, it is useful to arrange one or more rubber suction cups as fastening means for the pillow on the shepherds lie the surfaces of both pillow halves.

The new head air cushion brings a significant relief for civilians and especially for soldiers on long train journeys, as it allows comfortable sleeping or resting with the head leaning back on a shock-absorbing, soft surface. Not only in the train compartment, but also in the waiting room, in the motor vehicle or on any other occasion, a pillow designed according to the invention provides good service. Of course, it can also be used by people lying down as a head rest.

In the drawing, the novel top air cushion is shown diagrammatically in one exemplary embodiment, namely in FIG. 1 in the ready-to-use state in a plan view of the back of the cushion and in FIG. 2 in the collapsed non-use state.

As the drawing reveals, the new head air cushion consists of two movably interconnected, approximately hand-plate-sized air cushions a, b, which are roughly rectangular in shape with rounded narrow sides and in a known manner Rubber or similar chemically elastically stretchable material is Herge. Each of the two air cushions a, b represents an inflatable, all-round closed, flat bag, which is equipped on one long side with a valve c of a known type.

The long sides of the two air cushions a, b , which are not occupied by the valves, are combined to form a movable whole by an intermediate web d made of textile or a thin rubber layer, in such a way that the two pillow halves u, b, when they are filled with air, can be pivoted against each other, so that they ent neither, as shown in FIG. 1, lie next to each other in a plane or are at any angle to each other.

The pillow can be placed either on a flat back wall or with corner seats with one half on the back wall and the other half on a side wall, depending on how the local conditions allow it and it is most comfortable for the head to be in a resting position .

After the air has been released from both pillow halves a, b, the latter can be folded in the manner shown in FIG. 2 in a flat shape that takes half of the base area of the pillow and in this state in the smallest of spaces in a skirt, coat or Handbag or in another suitable place.

Even if the pillow, thanks to its relatively small dimensions, is usually sufficiently firmly held by leaning it with the head leaning back or to the side against the support, vapd or. presses against the support walls, it can still be equipped with means for easily detachable fastening.

In the example shown, for this purpose, four small rubber suction cups f are arranged on the rear sides of the two pillow halves a, b, which adhere to a surface in a known manner when pressed against a surface.

In order to attach the pillow to a desired location, one needs - if necessary after slightly moistening the suction cups - the individual suction cups f against smooth sections of the rear wall or. The side wall can only be pressed down and the pillow can be made sufficiently durable at the moment in any position, flat or angled. If the pillow is to be removed again after use, this can also be done in the shortest possible time and in the simplest manner by carefully loosening the individual suction cups f from the fastening points.

When folding the pillow, the front surfaces of both pillow halves a, b, which are left without suction cups f, are expediently to be folded against one another, because this way the two air cushions a, b can be laid on top of one another without gaps with the least amount of space required (see FIG. 2).

Of course, the invention is not limited to the illustrated embodiment be, rather, various modifications of the drawn example and other designs, in particular in the form of the two air cushions a, b and in the number and design of their fastening means f are possible without affecting the essence of the Invention would deviate. For example, the upper half of the cushion could be. arches.
