Telephone device. Known telephone devices, used in offices to this day, require the person who telephones to hold the microphone, or horn, with one hand near his ear. It follows that when the said person wishes, for example, to leaf through documents, to make calculations or to write under dictation, by hand or by typewriter, he is very embarrassed and often even in the im possibility of do their work. This results in a waste of time which often results in additional costs due to the prolongation of telephone conversations.
In addition, for a very busy person who has to phone frequently, the position of the arm with the micro-phone close to the ear causes significant fatigue.
In the telephone apparatus, object of the present invention, these drawbacks are eliminated by the fact that the micro-telephone is fixed on a mobile support member making it possible to bring the micro-telephone to the user's ear. , means being provided to maintain it in this position, member whose movements control an actuator of the fork of the telephone apparatus, a displacement of the support member bringing the micro-telephone to the ear of the user causing the telephone device to be connected to the network.
The appended drawing shows, by way of example and schematically, one embodiment of the device which is the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a view thereof partially in section.
A base 1, provided, for example, to receive an office telephone device 10, carries a foot 2. On the upper part of the latter is pivoted a socket 3 carrying an arm formed by a tube 4. On the end free of the latter is provided a removable collar 5 on which is clamped an orien table clamp 7 intended to receive and hold between its claws the micro-telephone 14 in the desired position. In the lower part of the sleeve 3 is provided a ring 25 for mant bearing.
On the upper end of the sleeve 3 @ is embedded a cap 116 forming a stop. This stop 16 is centered on a part 17 integral with the upper end of the foot 2. A screw 2'4 prevents the socket 3 from being raised.
A brake consisting of a fen due 18 ring tends to tighten the foot? and maintains the arm 4 in the desired position.
On the free end of the arm 4 is provided an actuating member 20. The latter is rigidly connected to a rod 21 pivoted inside the arm 4 and carrying a screwdriver consisting of two rollers 22 placed in the slot of the ring. 18.
The lower edge of the sleeve 3 is cam-shaped and acts on one of the ends of a lever 8 pivoted at 15 in a bearing formed by part of the foot ?. The other end of this lever 8 has claws 12.
A fork control member 9 consisting of a bar 11 of sufficient weight to lower the fork 9 of the telephone device against the action of its spring (not shown), is placed on the fork at the place the micro-telephone. In practice, the weight of this bar will be chosen to be approximately equal to that of the microphone.
The length of the lever 8 is provided so that its claws 12 are placed below the bar 11. Means could be provided for adjusting the length and height of the lever 8, in order to allow easy adaptation of the device. to all kinds of telephone devices. The movable arm 4 could also be flexible; it could, for example, be constituted by a sufficiently rigid sheath to control the fork, but which can be deformed and take any desired shape.
The base 1 could be replaced by a collar embracing the telephone apparatus.
The operation of the device is very simple.
The telephone device being placed on the base 1 or in the collar, the micro-telephone 14 in the claws of the orien table clamp 7 and the bar 11 on the fork 9 in the place normally occupied by the micro-telephone, it suffices to draw the arm 4 to oneself via the actuator, in order to bring the micro-telephone close to his ear to release the brake,
the lifting of the bar Il and therefore the release of the fork 9 and the connection of the telephone device to the network.
Indeed, by pivoting the arm 4 around the foot ?, the lower edge of the sleeve 3, which is in the form of a cam, pushes the lever 8 back, which causes it to tilt around its axis 15 and therefore an upward movement. or descending from its end provided with the claws 12. During this movement, the bar 11 is raised or lowered, and the oven chette is released or lowered.
Note that one and the same movement of the movable arm 4 brings. the microphone in the user's ear and activates the fork control unit.
It is obvious that the height of the foot, respectively of the arm 4, is provided so that the micro-telephone is at,. height of the user's ear; thanks to the removable collar 5 and the orientable clamp 7, the microphone can be oriented and fixed in advance in the position most comfortable for the user. In addition, the cam provided on the lower edge of the sleeve 3 can be provided so that a very small angular displacement of the arm 4 is already sufficient. 'to release the fork.
But the arm can still make a complete rotation around the foot, so that if several people want to call in turn, none need to be disturbed. By rotating the arm 4, each of them brings the micro-telephone close to his ear.
It would also be possible to provide several arms independent of each other, each carrying a micro-telephone, each arm acting on the fork without changing the position of rest of the other arms. It suffices, for this, to provide, for example, a sleeve 3 idle mount and an intermediate coupling member actuated by the control member 20 establishing when controlling this member a mechanical connection between said arm and the sleeve 3.
It is obvious that the operating mechanism of the control member of the oven can be housed either in the upper part of the foot as shown in FIG. 1, either in the central or lower part thereof, or even in the base.
Other embodiments of the device which is the subject of the invention can be designed.
The sleeve 3 can be pivoted on the foot 2 by means of ball bearings or any known device.
Likewise, the brake of the arm 4 can be constituted by two jaws applied to the foot by means of a spring or by any other known device.
It is possible, for example, to provide a stop or any other stop device determining the angular position of the arm 4 at rest. The foot 2 could be attached directly to the base plate of the telephone device.
The bar 11 could be removed and replaced by an adjustable control member (screw with nut and locknut) provided in the free end of lever 8 and pressing on the fork. In this case, one can provide a return spring of the lever 8 tending to lower the adjustable control member, so that the latter can actuate the fork against the action of its spring.
One could also provide, for example, a vertical movement from top to bottom of the arm 4, to bring the micro-telephone to the user's ear and simultaneously actuating the control member of the oven. However, a device built according to the latter embodiment would be less practical, because more bulky, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, the user would run the risk of colliding with the micro-telephone when getting up from his seat. .
The device that is the subject of the invention and one embodiment of which has been described here by way of example, can be adapted to all types of telephone devices; it suffices for this to provide an adjustment of the height of the control member of the fork, as well as an adjustment. of its distance from the foot. The device can also be designed for wall devices.
However, it is also possible to provide the entire device for actuating the fork inside the casing of the telephone apparatus, which would make it possible to eliminate the outer part of the fork intended to receive the micro-telephone. From that moment, the construction of the micro-telephone can be planned in a different way, because its weight no longer plays a role and its shape can be adapted to the conformation of individuals.
It can therefore be seen that not only does this device facilitate and simplify the use of the telephone, but also makes it possible to simplify the construction of telephone devices.
One of the advantages of the device is that it allows the telephone device to be placed either to the left or to the right of the user, which certainly presents a great advantage, especially for the preparation of call numbers and for a person who, by necessity, has to wear the micro-telephone to his or her right ear. In addition, the user's desk or table is always completely free. Finally, this device can, in certain cases, advantageously replace the helmet.
The arm can be actuated by an electric or pneumatic servo motor for example, or more simply directly by the user as described above.
It would also be possible to provide a positive device actuated by the arm 4, causing the automatic starting and stopping of a time counter, for example an hourglass or a clock, or activating a conversation counter. In this way, the user is always able to control the duration of his conversation and the number of these conversations.
The foot 2 can be formed by two telescopic tubes, so as to allow easy adjustment of the height of the arm.
It is also possible, for example in the case of a portable office device, to fix the foot carrying the arm directly on the upper part of the case, to remove the support claws of the micro-telephone coupled to. the fork control rod, and actuate the latter by the arm by means of a cam or a helical groove for example, or by means of an electromagnet. plunger core, the opening and closing of the supply circuit of this electromagnet being controlled by the movements of the arm. To this end, we can see, for example, a rotary or click switch controlled by the movements of the arm.
In order to prevent the device from remaining connected to the network, by forgetting the user, an automatic return of the arm to its rest position can be provided, for example by means of springs, a counterweight or any other device. known positive. In this case, it is then preferable to remove the brake, and to provide a device for maintaining the arm in position by pressure exerted by the user with his ear on the micro-telephone.
It is obvious that the fork, which is generally constituted by a pallet acting ning various contacts, can be provided, for example, in the form of a drum driven by the arm and carrying said contacts, or in the form of a switch to click or whatever.
In addition, the cam controlling the actuator of the fork can be replaced by any equivalent mechanical means, for example by return levers, Pte_
