Description

  

      Verfahren    zur Darstellung eines neuen     quaternären        Ammoniumsalzes.            Gegen-stand    des     vörkegenden        Zusatz-          patentes    ist ein Verfahren zur     Darstellung          eines    neuen     quatemnären        Ammoniumsalzes     der Formel

    gemäss     welchem        Pyridin    mit .der     Chlor-          methyaverbindung    des     Di-actadecyl-N:

  N'-          hexamethylendicarbamuts    der Formel

    zur Umsetzung     gekracht    wird.  



  Die neue Verbindung ist     ein    weisser Fest  körper,     der    in Wasser,     Benzdl,    Alkohol,    Chloroform und     Äthylendichlorid    löslich, - in  Äther und Aceton     dagegen    nur schwer löslich  ist.     Ihre        wäe@serige    Lösung schäumt beim  Schütteln;

   wird jedoch diese Lösung ge  kocht, dann wird     gie    allmählich trübe und  verliert ihre     Schäumkraft;gegebenenfalls     bildet sich     ein        Niederschlag.    Die neue Ver  bindung kann zum     Wasserabstossendmachen     von     Textilien    verwendet werden.  



  Die     Umsetzung        erfolgt    zweckmässig durch       Mischen    des     Pyridins        und    -der genannten       Chlormethylvembindung,        gewünschtenfalls    in       Gegenwart    eines     Lösungsmittels    oder     Ver-          dünnungsmittels.    Es findet     Wärmeentwick-          lung        statt,        und    es ist     vorteilhaft,

      das     Pyridin     langsam     zuzusetzen    und den Reaktions  behälter     ,zu    kühlen, oder eine grosse Menge       Lösungs-    oder     Verdünnungsmittel    zu ver  wenden.  



       Beispiel:     Das     Ausgangsmaterial    für .dieses Beisspiel  wird wie folgt     .hergestelllt:         53     Gewichtsteile        Di-oetadecyl-N:N'-heaa-          methylendicarbamat    der Formel       C,eH"-O-CO-NH-(CHz)6-NH.        CO-O-C,sHaz,     zweckmässig erhalten durch     Umsetzung    von       Hexamethylendiamin    mit     Oetadecyl-chlor-          formiat        .in        Gegenwart        eines        Alkalis,    und 8,

  6       Gewichtsteile        Paraformaldehyd    werden     vnit     300 Teilen     Benzol        vermischt.    Das Gemisch  wird     umgerührt    , und auf 60   C     erhitzt,          währenddem    Chlorwasserstoff     eingeleitet     wird, bis alle     Festmasse    verschwunden ist.

    Man lässt dann     das        Gemisch    abkühlen und  sich     absetzen,    worauf es sich in zwei Schich  ten trennt. Das Benzol  wird aus     'der        obern    Schicht     unter        verminder-          tem        Druck        abdestilliert.        Es    verbleibt ein       

  weicher,        wachsartiger        Festkörper,        nämlich     die erwähnte     Chlormethylverbindung.     



  Diese     Chlormethylverbindung    wird in  150     Gewichtsteilen        Athylacetat    gelöst und  12,4     Gewichtsteile        Pyridin    werden allmäh  lich     hinzugefügt.     



  <B>Es</B>     scheidet    ein     neues        quaternäres    Am  moniumsalz aus, das     abfiltriert,    mit     ein     wenig     Äthylaeetat        gewaschen    und     getrocknet     wird.

       Es    ist ein     weisses    Pulver, das sich in       Wasser    löst,     unter    Bildung einer     Lösung,     die beim     Schütteln        ,schäumt.    Wird die     Lö-          sung        gekocht,    so wird sie     allmählich        trübe     und verliert ihre     Schäumkraft.
