La fig. 1 montre le schéma de la. première forme d'exécution dans laquelle le générateur auxiliaire est une magnéto; les fig. 2 et 3 représentent le contacteur de commande de cette forme dans deux autres positions; les fig. 4, 5 et 6 sont des vues analogues aux fig. 1, 2 et 3 et se rapportent à la deuxième forme d'exécution dans laquelle le générateur auxiliaire est une bobine de dé part; la fig. 7 est une élévation sectionnelle du contacteur d'une variante de cette -deuxième forme d'exécution du -dispositif;
A l'arrêt (fig.
High voltage ignition device for explosion engines. The present invention relates to a high voltage ignition device for explosion engines, in particular for aircraft engines, and comprising at least one operating magneto and an auxiliary electric starting generator.
It is known that, in such a device, the auxiliary generator is used only for a very short time, when the engine is started, and the invention aims to prevent circulation in the primary winding of this generator, when it is not in service, parasitic currents which, in the case of a device mounted on an aircraft engine for example, would be capable of creating disturbances in the installation of on-board TSF of this aircraft .
The device according to the invention is characterized by a contactor connected both to the metal mass of the motor, to the primary winding of this running magneto and to the primary winding of said starting auxiliary generator, and arranged so to enable said auxiliary generator to be grounded when it is not in service.
The drawing shows schematically, by way of example, two embodiments of the device according to the invention and a variant of the second form.
Fig. 1 shows the diagram of the. first embodiment in which the auxiliary generator is a magneto; figs. 2 and 3 show the control switch of this form in two other positions; figs. 4, 5 and 6 are views similar to FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 and relate to the second embodiment in which the auxiliary generator is a starting coil; fig. 7 is a sectional elevation of the contactor of a variant of this -second embodiment of the -dispositif;
fig. 8 is a section along the line VIII-VIII of FIG. 7 and shows the diagram of this variant; fig. 9 represents a detail.
In fig. 1 is designated by 201 one of the two normal operation magnetos that the device comprises and by 202 the starting pad of this magneto which is connected to the distributor (a single pad of this distributor and the spark plug 203 which is connected to it have been represented); 904 is the metallic mass of the engine; 205 is the auxiliary starting generator formed by a magneto whose body is connected to ground 204 and the secondary is connected by a conductor 206 to the starting pad 202 and consequently to the distributor connected to the spark plugs, while its primary is connected by a conductor 207 to a movable contact 208 of a contactor 209. This contact 208 cooperates with a pad 210 connected to ground 204.
The contactor 209 comprises two other pads 211 and 212 connected to the ground 204 and cooperating respectively with movable contacts 213 and 214 respectively connected to the wires 215 and 216 respectively leading to the primary winding of the second magneto in normal operation (not shown) and that of magneto 201.
The operation of this device is as follows: When stopped (fig. 2) the three mobile contacts 208, 213 and 214 are closed respectively on the corresponding pads 209, 211 and 212 and the respective primary windings of the three magnetos are closed. to ground. The ignition is off and the safety is absolute.
For starting the engine (fig. 3) the three movable contacts 208, 213 and 214 are separated from the pads 209, 211 and 212 and the primary windings of the three magnetos are isolated from ground. All three magnetos operate simultaneously.
In normal operation (fig. 1) the moving contacts 213 and 214 remain separated from the pads 211 and 212, but the moving contact 208 is closed on the pad 209. The normal operation magnetos therefore remain in service. The starting magnet 205, which no longer works, has its primary winding connected to ground 204. The high frequency currents that can be induced in the primary of this magneto 205 are short-circuited to ground and cannot create undesirable disturbances in the installation of on-board TSF of the aircraft on which this embodiment of the device is mounted. The mobile contacts of the contactor are combined and action born by means of the same control member.
The device shown in FIG. 4 differs from the previous one in that the starting auxiliary generator is constituted by a starting coil 205a, the body of which is connected to ground 204. One of the terminals of the primary of this coil is connected to the moving contact 208 of the contactor as was above the primary winding of the starting magneto 305. The contactor comprises a pad 218 which cooperates with this movable contact 208 and which is connected by a conductor 219 to one of the poles of a source of current 230.
The other terminal of said primary is connected to one of the poles of a switch 231, the other pole of which is connected to a movable contact 208a of the contactor, similar to contact 208, and which cooperates with two connected pads 210a and 218a. respectively to pad 212) and, by a conductor 222, to the second pole of said current source 230. The contacts 208 and 208n are connected so as to be operated at the same time.
The operation is the same as in the previous case. In normal operation (fig. 4) the primary of the coil 205a is completely isolated from the current source 220 and its two terminals are connected to ground through the contacts 208 and 208a, the switch 33l being closed. The primary winding of the coil 205a is thus connected to ground. When stationary (fig. 5) the primary windings of the ina <-néto.s normal operation are connected directly to the. ground by their ground wires \ 315 and 216 and the nio- bile contacts 213 and 214 respectively closed on the pads 21.l. and 212.
The primary of coil 205a remains fully isolated from current source 220 with contacts 218 and 208a open.
(They could possibly be closed on the pads 210 and 2111a - so as to ground the terminals of the coil 205a.) In the starting ignition position (fig. 6), the contacts 208 and 208a are closed on the pads 218 and 218a and the primary of the coil 205a is thus connected to the current source 220, while the contacts 213 and 214 are open and the primary windings of the corresponding magnetos isolated from ground.
The movable contacts of the contactor are combined with one another and actuated by hand or by foot by means of the same control member.
Figs. 7 to 9 show the detail of the switch of a variant of the embodiment of the device shown schematically in FIG. 4, and comprising the two running magnetos 201 and 201 '. This switch 1 has a single control handle 3 wedged on a shaft 2 and can take five positions I, II, III, IV and V, namely: I stop position, II start, V normal operation, the two positions III and IV corresponding respectively to only one of the magnetos 201 and 201 'in use, the other having its primary winding connected to ground.
The contactor has for this purpose four mobile units 4, 5, 6 and 7, two of which, 4 and 6, are articulated around a fixed pivot 8 and the other two, 5 and 7, are articulated around a fixed pivot 9. Each of these mobile units comprises a lever 10 provided at its end with a roller 11. The rollers of the units 4 and 5 and the rollers of the units 6 and 7 cooperate respectively with two cams 12 wedged on the shaft 2 and having cavities and bosses, suitably distributed as will be explained below, and moving the rollers and, consequently, the mobile units.
A ball 21, pushed by a spring, maintains the cams in their different positions.
As best shown in fig. 9, each mobile unit carries two elastic blades 13 terminated by silver grains 14. These blades cooperate with fixed studs 15 and 15B, 17 and 17B connected to the ground of the motor, 16 and 16B respectively connected to the two terminals of the primary of the starting coil 205a, 18 and 18B connected respectively to the primary windings of the magnetos 201 and 201 ', and 19 and 19B connected to the poles of the battery 220.
A multiple socket 22 ensures the connection of the different conductors with the corresponding pads.
The cam cavities and bosses are arranged so that: 1 In position I (stop), the mobile assembly 5 comes into contact with the pads 17 and 18, the mobile assembly 7 with the pads 17B and 18B, the mobile unit 4 with the pads 15 and 16 and the mobile unit 6 with the pads 15B and 16B. The primary windings of the two magnetos are then grounded, as well as the two terminals of the primary of the start coil. (The primary winding of this coil is thus connected to earth.) 2 At position II (departure), mobile units 5 and 7 are free from pads 17, 18 and 17B, 18B, mobile units 4 and 6 are supported on the pads 19, 20 and 19B, 20B. Both magnetos are working and the coil primary is connected to battery 220.
3 At position III, the crew 5 is free from the pads 17 and 18, the crew 7 is in contact with the pads 17B and 18B, the crews 4 and 6 are in contact with the pads 15, 16 and 15B, 16B. Magneto 201 works alone, the other magneto and the coil are grounded.
40 At position IV, the connections are different from those of position III only in that the crew 5 is in contact with the pilots 17 and 18, while the crew 7 is released from the studs 17B and 18B. Magneto 201 'works alone.
50 At position V, the connections are different from those of positions III and IV only in that the two mobile units 5 and 7 are cleared from pads 1.7, 18 and 17B, \ 18B.
Both magnetos are working. The entire contactor is shielded and its fixing is ensured by two screws passing through openings 23, this arrangement making it possible to couple, if necessary, several contactors each belonging to the ignition device of one of the engines. a multi-engine aircraft.
