Description
Method for improving the combustibility of a solid fuel. The object of the present invention is a process for improving the combustibility of a solid fuel, in particular of a relatively wet fuel such as wood, lignite or peat. The process according to the invention is characterized in that the solid fuel is impregnated with a solution of sodium chlorate.
Example: One hundred kilograms of wood waste containing 70% water are impregnated, by watering, with five liters of a 5% aqueous solution of NaC103.
If the wood waste contains only 50% water, for example, it can be made to absorb up to ten liters of the same solution. Peat, whether mixed or not, can be treated with approximately equal amounts of sodium chlorate solution.
