Additional patent to main patent No. 261976. Process for the production of a new dye. The present invention provides a process for the preparation of a new dye, which is characterized in that 5 ', 5 "-I) ibenzoylamino-1,1', 5,1" -tria, n-tlirimid-2,2 ' 6,2 "-dicarbazole is reduced with a metal in the presence of an organic amide derived from a secondary amine and treated with a sulfating agent to form the corresponding leuco-sulfuric acid ester.
The new dye is a yellow-brown powder that dissolves in water to form a yellow-brown solution.
Examples of amides that are suitable for the above reaction are the amides derived from carboxylic acids, for example dimethylformamide, diethylformamide, dimethyl octaniide and tetramethylurea, and the amides derived from sulfonic acids, for example N, N-diethyl p-toluenesulfonamide, called .. You can the reaction mixture also diluents, such as. B.
Add acetone and acetonitrile. Example: 4.42 parts of finely divided 5 ', 5 "-dibenzoyl-ainino -1,1.', 5,1" -trianthrimide-2,2 ', 6,2 "- dicarba- zole (which by ring closure from 5' , 5 "-Di.- benzoylamino-1,1 ', 5.1" -trianthrimide can be obtained) in a vigorously stirred suspension of 3 parts of zinc dust in 30 parts of dimethylformamide and 0.3 part of potassium methyl sulfate at 00 C registered.
The mixture is stirred for 15 minutes in a reaction vessel in which the air has been displaced by nitrogen. The reaction product obtained by adding 11.7 parts of methylchlorosulfonate to 20 parts of dimethylformamide is then added and the mixture is stirred for a further 15 minutes. and then carried into a 5% aqueous solution of sodium carbonate. The mixture is filtered and the filtrate is distilled in vacuo until sodium sulfate begins to separate out in the distillation liquid.
Water is then gradually added to keep the volume of liquid in the alembic constant and distillation continued until about 500 parts of water have been added. The leucosulfuric acid ester is then salted out, filtered off, washed with a 10% aqueous solution of sodium carbonate, mixed with dextrin and dried in vacuo. The product can be applied to fabrics in the usual way, with orange-brown shades of good Authenticity emerges.
