Description

Method and device for the combustion of solid, lumpy fuels in furnaces. The invention relates to. a method and a device for the combustion of solid fuels in furnaces. The process makes it possible to achieve significantly higher firing capacities than has previously been the case. In addition, this process does not require the fuel to be processed into coal dust. Due to the high grate and fire room performance achievable by the process, it is possible to use the method for the greatest performance of boilers, the dimensions of which can be kept much smaller than before.

The invention makes use partly of known, partly of new knowledge, which in their connection he gives the new effect.

The method for burning solid, lumpy fuels is characterized in that an underwind supply and pressure is applied towards the end of the grate that causes the fuel advance and is so strong that the fuel layer on the grate that is being burned is pneumatically set in motion and burns Fuel particles are thrown into the combustion chamber and towards the front end of the grate, and that the foremost part of the grate is charged with a mixture of fresh, pre-dried fuel and combustible fuel particles from the combustion chamber,

which Clemiseh is created by the free fall of its components over the entire width of the grate. The device for carrying out the method with fuel introduction into the furnace by a conveyor belt is characterized by the arrangement of a cooling tube wall, which shields the tape arranged approximately halfway up the furnace from the furnace.

The furnace according to the new method is a grate furnace in connection with a furnace in suspension. Here, a grate is used that provides the fuel supply, primarily a traveling grate. Such grids have so far only really been used to a small extent. The front third of the grate is used. more of the drying and gradual ignition of the fuel layer; the rear part of the grate is usually also very lightly loaded in order to achieve good burnout. These lightly loaded sections are missing from the grids for the new process.

According to a preferred method, the combustion in suspension is accelerated in that it takes place with highly heated air, while the grate is expediently operated with a cold underwind. This process offers two advantages: on the one hand, the grate remains quickly cooled in the event of maximum stress, and on the other hand, the proportion of the total combustion air forming the upper air can be heated to a much higher temperature than would be possible if the entire volume of air was preheated.

Combustion in suspension results in a strong concentration of flue gases with fly coke and fly ash, so that, for example, in boilers with a traveling grate, it is advisable to separate the fly coke and fly ash from the boiler flues and in a downstream flue gas filter. This fly coke and fly ash can be blown into the furnace by means of hot air as a conveying means over the traveling grate in the direction of the front end of the grate. The application of highly heated hot air already results in the incipient gasification of the combustible components within the trajectory.

It therefore creates completely different and significantly more favorable combustion conditions than with the already known simple flycoke recirculations, in which a large part of the blown flycoke falls on the grate while still being burnt in, while a mostly larger part has to be circulated repeatedly with the flue gases.

With the appropriate design of the new process, only the coarsest flycoke components are thrown into the falling fresh fuel, thereby contributing to the increase in the sliding proportion. On the other hand, the recirculation, which can also be operated in a known manner with flue gas as the conveying medium, already creates an initial swirling of the fire gases, which initiates complete combustion.

With a corresponding design of the method, despite a strong increase in the proportion of incineration in suspension, a substantial reduction in the suspended particles entrained with the air gases in the flues is brought about. Appropriately, upper air is directed from different sides to a point above the center of the grate or tangentially to a more or less large circle around this point. The air nozzles are expediently set up so that they can be pivoted so that the most favorable introduction can be made.

The upper air is blown in twice at a relatively high speed and a high temperature. For the sake of a good breakdown, this introduction can take place in different superimposed levels. In the case of tangential introduction, the vortex of the fire gases, which is already known from pulverized coal firing, is generated, which causes a strong lengthening of the burnout path for the floating parts.

By introducing these vortex-generating air intakes in different superimposed planes in opposite directions, the vortex is even more intense and the burnout effect is increased considerably.

In the process, a forward, the grate movement in the opposite direction to the top air injection is provided in the embers recirculation zone below half of the fuel inlet and further top air for swirling - applied centrally or tangentially, as described above, and thus a relatively short burnout zone created, the one low overall height, for example, of boiler systems with high output.

The well-known introduction of fuel over the entire width of the furnace by means of a redler belt, drag chain conveyor or the like conveyor is expediently carried out approximately halfway up the furnace. The sponsors are shielded from the furnace with part before by a cooling pipe wall.

In order, for example, to protect the belt from below from the effects of furnace radiation and to avoid backfiring, means for blowing in warm air can be provided above the discharge end of the conveyor belt, through the point where the fuel enters enters the furnace and its temperature is adjusted by mixing with cold air. This warm secondary air also promotes the drying of the fuel and the ignition and combustion of the carbonisation gases, which are released in abundance in the foremost zone of the furnace.

This secondary air flow, which mainly acts as a protective device, can be regulated by the drive of the fuel conveyor belt in such a way that when its speed is reduced, i.e. during the low loads of the furnace, the cold air supply is increased and the hot air admixture is switched off when the belt is stopped and the cold air flow is throttled to the amount required to protect the fuel supply apparatus.

If the combustion is carried out with as little excess air as possible, a relatively high temperature is reached in the combustion chamber, so that the ash is largely liquid and more or less granulated as a heavy component on the rearmost part of the grate, while the coke-like, unburnt parts, lifted by the air stream and thrown into the combustion chamber. This results in the well-known, self-acting sorting of the combustible from the non-combustible. With this method, most of the combustion residues were removed from the grate. be carried out.

To ensure that the carrion burns completely under all circumstances, the grate residues can be fed into a burnout shaft behind the grate using a scraper.

With some fuels, the backward inclination of the grate, known per se, can be advantageous.

With reference to the drawing, an embodiment of the inven tion according to the firing method is tert erläu below.

A zone grate was chosen as the furnace grate for the example.

Fig. 1 shows a boiler system in longitudinal section.

Fig. 2 is a cross section along line A-B of Fig. 1 through the furnace above half of the flycoke recirculation and supply of secondary air.

3 and 4 are cross-sections along the lines C-D and E-F of FIG. 1 in the burnout zone of the floating furnace.

In the present example of the firing process, the traveling grate a only requires three zones, a front one around the intensive one; To start combustion on the grate at the front, a middle main combustion zone and a relatively short rear separation zone on which the still unburned fuel from the burned out; Slag are thrown separately into the combustion chamber. The air ducts assigned to these zones are denoted by b, c and d. Subdivisions of these zones are possible, but not absolutely necessary.

The grate is much shorter due to the elimination of the previously usual front drying and ignition zone and the backward burnout zone, so that a special guidance of the returning tram e of the grate belt is necessary and the free passage a special grate clamping device is unnecessary power. This increases the operational reliability of the grate significantly. A scraper f is expediently provided at the end of the grate, which makes it easier to close the grate.

There is also a burn-out shaft g, which is advantageous when burning particularly ash-rich fuels, because with such fuels it can happen that coke parts stick to burnt-out slag and could be lost with them unused. Such a shaft g could, however, also be missing.

The grate is charged by a conveyor belt h., Which is conveniently located halfway up the furnace. Since borrowed against the furnace, the conveyor belt or the charging device is shielded by a cooling pipe wall i. i The furnace is lined all around with the boiler's cooling pipe systems.

The flue coke that precipitates in the flues of the boiler at the deflection points of the flue gases at m and in the flue gas filter n at o, and the fly ash are in a known manner through injector-like nozzles, some of which are indicated at o with the letter p ( see.

Fig. 1), captured by a conveying air stream from the hot air line and conveyed through the pipe q zii to the nozzles 1, which are located in the lower part of the rear wall k of the fire rai and through which the fly coke and fly ash are directed towards the grate discharge end be blown in.

In the rear wall of the combustion chamber, the secondary air nozzles are arranged above the air duct, which are also directed towards the end of the grate loading and are operated with highly heated air.

Further above this second air inlet are one or, as shown, several superimposed groups of third air inlets si_, 32, s3, s (FIG. 3), t1, t2, t3, ti (FIG . 4) and u1, n2, icp, ic.l provided, which, deviating from the representation,

can be directed from different sides - ideally from the corners of the combustion chamber - for example to one point, namely the intersection of the vertical axis of the combustion chamber with the injection plane. The third air nozzles, which are also operated with highly heated air, are conveniently directed pivotably in the horizontal injection levels.

In this way, the direction of the third air jets can also be set tangentially to a more or less large circle around the axis of the combustion chamber and then generated by the known swirl of the fire gases. The settings can be made in such a way that the tangential direction of flow of the third shift jets is directed alternately in opposite directions in the planes lying one above the other.

To switch off the influence of the furnace radiation on the charging apparatus through the charging opening from below and also to avoid fuel re-ignition against the bunker, an air flow directed from top to bottom is generated from nozzles v behind the pipe wall i. This protective air may be preheated, even if not to the maximum temperature. The temperature can be higher, the lower the gas content of the fuel being burned.

The temperature adjustment of this air flow mentioned in the following fourth air flow takes place by adding cold air to the hot air flow coming from the air heater.

As long as the belt or the charging device is running, the maximum permissible temperature of the protective air for the fuel can be maintained without damage to the construction. Only when the fuel supply is throttled more strongly is the protective air temperature reduced as a function of the belt speed. This can be done in a simple manner by the effect of a control element, which is dependent on the belt speed, on the throttle valves in the hot and cold air lines.

If the fuel supply is completely interrupted, the hot air supply is automatically switched off completely and at the same time the air volume is throttled to a minimum value.

The operation and mode of operation of the boiler and furnace system described above is as follows: The grate is covered with ignition material to put the boiler into operation, or gas or oil ignition burners provided for this purpose are turned on, which control the fire from the charging device on the ignite abandoned fuel at the end of the grate,

so that after the grate has started up, the two front grate sections are covered with a burning coal layer. Now the downwind in the middle section is increased so much that pneumatic vision begins. As soon as the rear grate is covered, the compressed air on it is slowly further increased, at the same time the air duct and the secondary air supply, and soon afterwards the third and fourth air supplies are switched on.

By increasing the air supply and pressure on the three grate sections from front to back, the already known, but under these operating conditions still very increased effect of the flying of sparks or embers from back to front, a V4'ffect, This is further intensified by the influence of the return of airborne dust and the rectified secondary air injection. I:

From this point onwards, embers will fall freely on the front end of the grate at the same time as the fresh fuel and the grate will be charged with a Frisclikohleil-Glutgeiniseh over its entire width So with this method already at the foremost end of the grate, comes, whereby the coal layer, imhend on your first grate section, burns.

Under the influence of the very highly heated air of around 350 to 450 C, extremely lively combustion occurs on the grate and in the suspension in the lower combustion zone of the floating furnace. Lighter pieces of fuel that have been carried away into the upper burnout zone of the floating furnace are largely burned by the third air on the very long burnout path created by the air inlet.

The fact that the grate is operated with cold air and that finitely much higher underwind pressures than before, it is hardly subject to any wear. The rust diarrhea is also practically eliminated.

Even in free fall, the fresh fuel is dried and partially degassed under the effect of the very high furnace temperature radiation. The smoldering gases are burned by the fourth air flow, which is introduced from above to protect the charging device. This fourth air flow also has a further effect: it prevents dust-like parts in the fuel from being carried upwards by the lively lift of the gases immediately after entering the combustion chamber and reaching the upper combustion chamber zone they cannot contribute to the burning on the grate.

The fourth air means that the dust is burned directly above the frontmost end of the grate and near the fresh embers of the fuel. It therefore contributes to a further increase in the grate output. The performance of the boilers and furnaces, which are built in the design described and operated according to the method described, are considerably higher than those of the known boilers with grate and pulverized coal furnaces. The combustion chambers can be much lower, which means that the boilers are not so high and the total costs for boiler systems are much cheaper, not least due to boiler houses with a low construction height.

This is illustrated by the dash-dotted line w (Fig. 1), which shows the minimum space requirement of a boiler of the same power, but of a known design in depth, while the boiler with the inventive device only has half the height of the known boiler needs. Despite the use of significantly higher air pressure and higher flue gas velocities, which cause greater draft loss, operation is, on the whole, much more economical.

The high energy consumption for grinding the fuel in coal dust firing and the mill wear are absent. Only very coarse coals have to be pre-crumbled, otherwise the fuels can be burned as they are, moist or dry. The moistening to dry Koh len, which is usually necessary for grate firing, is not necessary; the then unavoidable loss of heat through evaporation of the supplied water does not occur. Neither the furnace, which is covered by water pipes, nor the grate, which works under favorable conditions, is subject to wear and tear.

Excellent burnout of the gases with a very low excess of air and low ash loss result in a very high level of efficiency. The complete combustion at the highest temperatures changes the fly ash in a favorable way, so that in connection with the fly ash return and at the high gas velocities, the external contamination of the after-heating surfaces cannot occur and very long continuous operating times of the boiler are made possible.
