Description
Process for the production of an aldehyde. It has been found that a valuable aldehyde is obtained if two 31o1 cyanuric halide are mixed with one mole of 4,4'-di-aminostilbc: n-2,2'-disulfonic acid, two moles of 3-: Xniino-1-iienzalclehvd and two Mol of ammonia condensed.
The new Mclehyd has an affinity for wool fibers and can be used as an aid when dyeing with acid-dyeable complex chromium compounds of o - (-) xp-o'-aminoazo dyes.
: 11s ('vatitii-halide is used in the presence of the experienced cyanuric chloride with advantage. The condensation is expediently carried out in such a way that first, one after the other, the aromatic amines are condensed with the carbon halide and the ammonia is added, two last remaining j C-Cl.
Otherwise, the condensation reactions can normally be carried out using methods known per se, e.g.
B. in wasseri @@ em lIediuni. and with advantage with the addition of acid-binding agents. As is generally customary in the case of condensations with Cj-anurha.logicians, it is also recommended in the present case to
from the first to the third 1 \ nisetzting to increase gradually. Example: l # ', ine laekmtisneuti-al reactive solution of; 7 parts of 4,4'-diaininostilbene-'3,2'-disulfonic acid sodium in 300 parts of water are left inside. 60: minutes to a suspension of 36 parts of Cvanurehlorid in 1600 parts of water, the temperature is held to 0 to 5 th by indirect cooling.
Dilute sodium carbonate solution is continuously added so that the reaction mixture always reacts with a weak mineral acid. After about 3 hours it is. the amount of 10.6 parts of sodium carbonate theoretically required for condensation is consumed.
Now, within 30 minutes, a solution is run in to the reaction mixture obtained in this way, which is obtained by dissolving 24.2 parts of 3-amino-1-benzaldehyde in 1200 parts of water while warming with the addition of 23 parts of 30% Hydrochloric acid and subsequent cooling to 60 has received. It takes about 72 hours until the theoretically required amount of 1, 2 parts of sodium carbonate for condensation is used up.
1.3 parts of 27% aqueous ammonia are added to the reaction mixture and the whole is heated to 96 to 98 within one hour. A persistent, weakly alkaline reaction occurs and the initially gelatinous mass becomes crystalline.
It is held at 96 to 98 "for half an hour, traces of impurities are filtered off, 100 parts of sodium chloride are then added, the mixture is allowed to cool and the sodium salt which has separated out is filtered off at room temperature \ mcrystallize from water.
