in which It denotes an alliyl, cycloalliyl or aralkyl radical have not yet become known.
As has now been found, compounds of this type have a very good acaricidal activity and are excellently suited as active ingredients for: Adjusting pest control agents, especially sols for combating mites.
The new compounds can be obtained by reacting a functional derivative, e.g. B. an ester, halide or the an .. hydride or a salt of an etherified oxyacetic acid of the general formula R-O-C1I2-COO: II wherein R is the above. has given meaning, are made with 2 molecules of an organometallic 4-chlorophenyl compound.
For example, sets. into an alkyl ester of an etherified oxyacetic acid according to the definition with 4-chlorophenylmagnesium bromide or iodide according to the Grignard method. Most of the esters required are known; those that have not yet been disclosed are also easily accessible using analogous methods.
The present patent now relates to a process for the production of a? Ylonoether of an araliphatic glycol. The method is characterized in that one mole of one

Remainder donating compound, z.
B. a funk tional derivative of ethoxyacetic acid such as ester or halide, with 2 moles of an organometallic 4-chlorophenyl compound, sets and the compound obtained is hydrolyzed.
The new compound, 1,1-di- (p-chloro-phenyl) -2-ethoxy-ethanol, boils under 0.05 min pressure at 140 to 142 and has a melting point of 58 to 59. It is intended to be used for combating parasites.
Example: 105 parts by weight of magnesium shavings are covered with 500 parts by volume of absolute ether and 805 parts by volume of p-chlorobromobenzene, dissolved in 2500 parts by volume of absolute ether, are reacted. To the Grignard solution obtained, 264 parts of ethyl ethoxyacetate, dissolved in 300 parts by volume of absolute ether, are added in such a way that the ether remains at the boil.
When the addition is complete, the mixture is heated to boiling for a further ¯ hours while stirring. The cooled reaction mixture is
