Kitchen tool. The present invention relates to a kitchen utensil for reducing raw vegetables, in particular parsley, chervil and the like, into small pieces, comprising a container. the base bears on its internal face fixed knives which cooperate with at least one movable knife integral with the shaft of a control crank and arranged so as to. come into contact pro rressively.
with the knives fixed over their entire length in order to cut the vegetables during the rotation of the said shaft, means being provided to ensure contact between the cutters of the fixed and movable knives and means to allow the cut vegetables to be removed of the container., utensil charac terized in that the discharge means consist of comb-shaped openings made in the bottom of the container and preceding the fixed knives in the normal direction (the rotation of the shaft .
In the accompanying drawing are shown, by way of example, an embodiment of the invention and a variant.

Fig. 4 is, a following cut. 1-I of fig. 3.
Fig. 5 is a section along II-II of FIG. 3. Fig. 6 is a bottom plan view of a variant.
The utensil shown in Figs. 1 to 5 com carries a container 1. provided with a base 2 and a handle 3, into which the vegetables to be cut are introduced. This container 1 has the ordinary shape of an inverted truncated cone, inside which are provided two brackets 4-41, in the form of hooks, intended to serve as a support for a cross member 5 serving as a support for a vertical shaft. 6 controlled by a crank 7.
The shaft 6 is provided with a shoulder 8 which retains a coil spring 9 resting against the cross member 5 in order to exert downward pressure on the shaft 6 and to hold the cross member 5 in place in the hooks 4--41 using buttonholes provided in said cross member.
The bottom 2 of the container 1. carries, on its inner face, fixed knives 10 which cooperate with movable knives 1.1 integral with the shaft 6. By the rotation of the shaft 6, the movable knives It come successively and gradually. in contact with the knives 10 under the action of the spring 9. 4 as shown in the fis. 2, the knives 10 are arranged radially on the bottom of the container, while the mobile eouteaiux 11 are arranged so that, during the rotation of the shaft 6, the cutting edges of the fixed knives and of the mobile knives act at the.
like scissors on the vegetables, sliding in contact with each other and without being able to catch.
The fixed knives are. formed of strips cut from the bottom of the container and straightened on the internal face of said bottom; the radial openings 12 which result therefrom are thus arranged immediately in front of the fixed knives 10, this taking into account the normal direction of rotation of the mobile knives.
In each opening 12 open slots 7.2i perpendicular to the opening 12 and parallel to each other. The whole of the opening 12 and the slots thus constitutes an opening in the form of a comb used for. the evaluation of the cut ma lmes. The slots 121 determine in the bottom of the teeth 34 which can vibrate during the rotation of the movable knives on the fixed knives and thus facilitate the release of small pieces made during the. chopped off.
The teeth 34- are slightly bent upwards, the end of the teeth being at a level lower than that of the cutting edge of the fixed knives 10, therefore of the cutting edge of the mobile knives; the distance between these two levels is determined according to the fineness of the cut to be made. From such an arrangement, it follows that the vegetables, driven by the moving knives, must climb the slope formed by the fold given to the teeth 34, so that, without having to touch the fixed knives, the fineness of the cut can be adjusted by modifying the inclination of the teeth 34. Thus, depending on whether the teeth 3s are more or less bent worm :.
up compared to the fixed knives, the size of the cut pieces is reduced or increased during the action of the mobile knives on the fixed knives. In the variant shown to the fi-. 6. the slots 121 of the evacuation openings have the shape of a circular arc.
