Fig. 5 zeigt die Flussverteilung über den Ankemunfang. Fig. 6 bis 10 zeigen Einzel beiten.
Electricity meter with drum armature.
Electricity meters with drum armatures are among the oldest meters for alternating current that work according to the Ferraris principle.
In the course of the development they were replaced by the counter with disc anchor because it was easier to manufacture at the time.
The technical advantages of a meter with a drum armature were not recognized at the time. So far, no construction with a drum armature has become known that is superior to the counter with a disk armature. The designs that have existed so far all have a fundamental flaw in that the drive flows are never nearly sinusoidally distributed over the armature circumference. As a result, the torque generation is disturbed considerably and the braking torques of the drive flows come into their own.
For an explanation, reference is made to FIGS. 1 and 2 of the drawing, in which an outer pole or. Inner pole version of the known meters with drum armature are shown and in which with 1 the drum armature, iiiii 2 and 4 carry the voltage coils 7a and 71lf poles, with 3 and 5 the poles with the current coils 8a and 8b and with 6 the inferior circuit for the Drive flows forming inner core or toroidal core is designated.
Here, as indicated in the drawing, the drive flows only emerge from the relatively narrow pole heads, with only either the voltage drive flow or the current drive flow emerging from each pole head.
Since the pole heads are closer together in the outer pole version, the flux distribution is somewhat better here than in the inner pole version, with the latter only having very little overlap between the current and voltage drive flows and consequently the generation of torque is particularly poor; however, both versions are magnetically unfavorable, and the flux distribution over the circumference of the drum armature corresponds approximately to FIG. 3, in which the voltage drive flux Ou is shown with solid lines and the current drive flux (0J is shown in broken lines).
This results in two voltage drive flux maxima located at a distance of 180 from each other and two current drive flux maxima likewise offset by approximately 180 relative to one another and offset by 90 compared to the voltage drive flux maxima.
The invention eliminates these disadvantages in that two voltage and two current coils are arranged and the four pole pieces of the pole iron are designed in such a way that part of the voltage drive flux as well as part of the current drive flux flows through each pole shoe this creates two drive flows that are distributed almost sinusoidally over the armature circumference.
In this case, the pole surfaces expediently form an almost completely closed ring, which is only broken up by grooves required to separate the poles from one another.
The coils are attached to the outer ring that bears the pole shoes, and the drive flows are forced through windows in the pole iron to close over two neighboring pole shoes and the armature.
The construction according to the invention makes it possible, in a simple and advantageous manner, to attach the devices required for phase adjustment of the flows, the devices required for increasing the effective current drive flow, which increases with the load, and for generating the voltage drive.
In Fig. 4 of the drawing an Ausfüh approximately example of the invention is shown.
Fig. 5 shows the flow distribution over the anchorage. Fig. 6 to 10 show individual work.
In FIG. 4, 1 denotes the drum armature which is designed in a manner known per se like a bell and slipped over the inner core 6. The stand iron consists of round or, as shown, octagonal sheets stacked one on top of the other, which are provided with four punched-out windows 9, 10, 11 and 12. The grooves 9a, 10a lla and 12a adjoin these windows inward. In this way, four pole shoes 2, 3, 4 and 5 are formed, the pole faces of which form a ring which surrounds the drum armature 1 with a small air gap and is closed except for the grooves 9a to 12a.
The current and voltage windings are wound on the circumference of the outer ring formed by the window, the voltage coils 7a and 7b preferably being connected in parallel and the current rings 8a and 8b preferably being connected in series. This outer ring is interrupted in the area of the tension windings by a butt joint 9b and 11b, which must be provided to enable the tension windings to be applied, and is interrupted in the area of the current coils by the separating joints 10b and 12b. The two voltage coils are also switched in such a way that the drive flows generated by them pass through the armature in the same direction.
The same goes for the power coils.
As indicated in the drawing, whoever forced the instinctual flows through the window in the pole iron, see over two adjacent pole shoes 2, 3 or 3, 4, etc. to close. They penetrate the drum armature and the inner core 6 in such a way that an approximately sinusoidal flow distribution results for each of the two drive flows over the entire circumference of the drum armature, with the adjacent current and voltage drive flows overlapping and thus a valid one Cause torque generation.
In Fig. 5 is with. the weakly drawn, solid and dashed lines represent the ideal sinusoidal curve for the voltage drive flow Ou and for the current drive flow j.
This ideal flow course is not quite achieved in practice, but the flows run roughly in the way as indicated by the strongly drawn out curves #U and Oj.
Part of the voltage drive flow runs as stray flux over the grooves 9c and 11a, and by setting the width of the grooves 9a and 11a you have the necessary phase shift between voltage and voltage drive flow and thus also between the voltage drive flow and the current drive flow to adjust properly. The gaps 9a and 12a, like the air gaps 10b and 12b, can be filled with non-magnetic material in order to maintain the required spacing.
In order to be able to subsequently regulate the phase shift between the drive flows in a simple manner, a short-circuit frame 15 is inserted into the inner core 6, as shown in FIG. 6, and the core can be rotated and locked again after its adjustment by a screw. In the illustrated position of the rotatable inner core 6 and the short-circuit frame 15, the voltage drive flow is loaded by the short-circuit ring and thus the phase shift between the voltage and the voltage drive flow is made particularly large, while the current drive flow is not burdened by the short-circuit ring 15 .
Conversely, when the inner core 6 is rotated by 90, the current drive flow is maximally loaded and the voltage drive flow is unloaded. Corresponding partial loads on the flows result in intermediate positions of the inner core 6.
In Fig. 7 is the device for compensation. sation of increased current damping at high loads. In the window 10, a magnetic sheet 13 is attached, which is held on all sides at a small distance from the pole iron by a non-magnetic material 14 and forms a magnetic shunt that is unsaturated with small loads and therefore has a small magnetic resistance, while it is at larger loads will soon be saturated.
With small loads, the major part of the current drive flux flows via the magnetic shunt 13, while with increasing load an ever larger part of the current drive flux is forced to flow via the armature due to the increasing magnetic resistance when the magnet sheet 13 is saturated. The air gap 10b here serves in a known manner as a magnetic series resistor. In addition, it can also be used to adjust the phase position between current and current drive flow and thus also between the current drive flow and the voltage drive flow by adjusting its size.
To regulate the tension drive, two auxiliary voltage coils 16 6 and 17 are provided in the grooves 10b and 12b in accordance with ss Fig the reverse drive is provided. The two coils are slidably arranged so that they are more or less deep into the air gap. 106 and 126 respectively.
Here, the arrangement is made such that when one coil is lowered into the air gap, the other is simultaneously lifted out, for example by means of the balance arm lever 18 according to FIG. 9. Instead, a coil according to FIG , which is to be designed circular in this case, can be rotatably arranged so that it is more or less effective depending on its setting.
