Description
Additional patent to main patent no. 290294. Process for the production of a copper-containing azo carbate substance._ The scope of the present patent is a process for the production of a copper-containing azo dye, which consists in
EMI0001.0004
and 0.7 moles of the aminomonoazov compound of the composition
EMI0001.0008
advantageously in an aqueous medium and in the presence of an acid-binding agent,
reacted with 1 mol of a pumaric acid dihalide and treated the disazo compound thus obtained with a copper donor.
In the following example, the parts are parts by weight.
Example: 89 parts of the aminomonoazo compound of the composition (I) and 33.1 parts of the aminomonoazo compound of the composition (II) are dissolved in 3000 parts of water with the addition of sodium carbonate.
Into this solution are dripped with good stirring at a temperature of 8-10 so much that 1.3 mol of the aminomonoazo compound of the composition of a 30% solution of fumaric acid dichloride in chlorobenzene are added until free amino groups can no longer be detected . The condensation solution is always kept neutral to slightly alkaline by occasionally adding solid sodium carbonate.
After the end of the reaction, the disazo dye formed is deposited in the heat with the aid of sodium chloride and filtered off.
To convert the compound into the copper complex, the dye is dissolved in 2000 parts of water at 70-80. After adding 50 parts of crystallized sodium acetate, the solution is mixed with enough parts of a 20% copper sulfate solution with thorough stirring until copper ions can be detected in the filtrate of a salted-out sample. The resulting copper complex compound is precipitated as the sodium salt with the aid of sodium chloride, filtered off and dried.
The new copper-containing azo dye is a dark brown powder that dissolves in water and concentrated sulfuric acid with a red color and dyes cotton and fibers made from regenerated cellulose in yellow-brown tones with good lightfastness and washfastness. After-treating the dyeings with copper salts in the presence of a polyalkylenepolyamine, their wet fastness properties are further improved.
