Description
Additional patent to main patent no. 290294. Process for the production of a copper-containing azo carbate. The subject of the present patent is a process for the production of a copper-containing azo dye, which consists in
EMI0001.0004
and 0.7 141o1 of the amino monoazo compound of the composition
EMI0001.0008
advantageous in an aqueous medium and in the presence of an acid-binding agent,
reacted with 1 mole of a fumaric acid dihalide and treated the disazo compound thus obtained with a copper donating agent, In the following example the parts are parts by weight, Example: 90.9 parts of the aminoinonoazo compound of the composition (I) and 27 parts of the aminomonoazo compound the composition (1I) are dissolved in 4000 parts of water with the addition of sodium carbonate.
Into this solution is added dropwise with thorough stirring at a temperature of 8-10 as much as 1.3 mol of the aminomonoazo compound of the composition 30% solution of pumaric acid dichloride in chlorobenzene until no more free amino groups can be detected in it. Occasional addition of solid sodium carbonate keeps the condensation solution neutral to slightly alkaline.
After the reaction has ended, the disazo dye formed is precipitated in the warm with the aid of sodium chloride, filtered off and dried.
To convert to the copper complex compound, dissolve 125 parts of the sodium salt of the disazo dye in 2000 parts of water and gradually add a mixture of 50 parts of crystallized copper sulfate, 80 parts of 25% ammonium hydroxide solution and 150 parts of water to the solution at 85. The metallization solution is kept at 90-95 for 16 hours, the resulting copper complex compound is separated off in the heat using sodium chloride, filtered off and dried.
The new copper-containing azo dye is a dark brown powder that dissolves in water and concentrated sulfuric acid with a red color and dyes cotton and fibers made from regenerated cellulose in yellow-brown shades of good lightfastness and washfastness. By post-treating the dyeings with copper salts. in the presence of a polyalkylene polymer, their wet fastness properties are further improved.
